This could be on the pop culture section, but the theme is garlic and its amazing anti-bacterial, detoxifying, blood cleansing benefits. Chef Emeril Lagasse loves to use garlic and I must admit I watch his cooking on the FoodTV channel sometimes while eating food or I prepare food as a result of watching him. Some people think he is a little obnoxious, but I think he is great and his use of garlic is humorous but it is extremely healthful.

I despise Martha Stewart.

Small world alert: Martha Kostyra (Stewart) and her husband Andy Stewart were divorced in 1990. Andy was remarried to their former flower consultant Robyn Fairclough in 1993. I met the elderly Jim Fairclough, Robyn's father about year ago at his house and helped moved some furniture because he was too ill. Jim is close friends with my father.

I heard that Martha used to beat him...talk about competition...I'd hate to know I had to follow her...

Emeril ROCKS

I LOVE Garlic...

It is tasty...and has some good benefits...

There is this GREAT restraunt in LA called The Sinking Rose. Their motto is that they flavor their garlic with food. :-)

Manu, I love that restaurant! My whole family loves garlic. When I was growing up, my dad made the rule that if we were eating extremely garlicy food everyone had to eat some so that we were all immune to eachother's bad breath.

I live here in LA. My parents live in Monterey County though, so I've been to both the LA and SF restaurants.

I used to watch Emeril ALL THE TIME about 3-4 years ago. He was really good then.

When I went to New Orleanes for Halloween of 99 I ate at his Resturants 'Emeril' twice and 'NOLA' (in the Quarter) once. They were both very good although NOLA is considerably cheaper, (and better menu choices IMO).

Since then I can't stand him. He has gotten a bigger 'ego' ? and he is all over the place way to much... I can't seem to turn on the TV without him yelling something at the camera.. LOL

some of the stuff he makes on that show looks so good!i am big into the way food looks and is presented and it always looks so tasty after hes done.off the subject a bit but amusing..my friends little brother wants to"be emiril when he grows up" and walks around the house saying bam! and talking with an accent.its pretty funny.

Bam! LOL ;) There are some other great shows on the FoodTV to wet the appetite. The only one I don't like is Martha Kostyra's. I will feel better if Emeril starts to publish a magazine, sell more products, etc. and arranges for his company to do a Wall Street IPO so he ultimately has more cash than Martha and dethrones her Queen of all media status. ;)

Hey Manu...
I was being kind of sneaky, but then I felt personally compelled to defend Cody in the political forum and outed myself! Ha Ha. This is Hallie.

I am a huge Garlic lover, it makes things taste great and it's so good for you. The one and only drawback to eating large amounts of Garlic are it's incedible powers to keep people away from you.. Maybe that's why people thought it would keep away the Vapires? I wonder if it keeps away spooks? :D

you are correct.. that dood is all over the place! He is the spokesperson for Whitney bank and they all these lame commercials with him saying "bam, your approved for the loan" and gay stuff like that!

And come on, what was he thinking when he decided to do a sitcom
