I'm considering trying this stuff out as a dietary supplement. As I understand it, this is the extract of the Mu Huang plant, a stimulant not unlike caffeine that has been used in China for 5000 years or so to treat things like asthma, bronchial infections, etc. I've been researching safe dosages and I figure I'll be fine taking 60mg a day. I was wondering if anyone had any success/horror stories with this stimulant/metabolizer. Anyone?

I've taken it off and on for years with no bad effects. Just make sure to read the warning label on the bottle. If you have any heart problems/Anxiety or are taking other drugs I wouldn't take it. Besides that I love the stuff, I haven't found anything that works better.

As far as safety goes, the 1or 2 people that die every year are those who misuse it. Like taking 10-20 times the normal dose and then consuming large amounts of Alcohol. About 7000 people die every year from the adverse effects of taking Aspirin. So Ephedrine is pretty damn safe..

Best crap I've ever taken . . . it's so good, I've only taken it once and I will NEVER take it again. It's scary . . . THAT good.

How big a dose was that, Dave? I'm only going to be taking one 60mg capsule a day, which is actually only half the maximum recommended dose.

Everything I've read says 100mg max per day. I too have tried it. And will use it again. Can't it had the same effect Dave got from it, but, it was a great appetite suppresant and energy booster...

I took ONE pill . . . but THAT was enough.

I don't know how safe it is FOR ME.

All I know is that I liked it . . . a lot. And, if I got even HALF the effect when I took it, I'd take it regularly REGARDLESS of what it did to me.

Oh, for what it's worth, the effects diminish the more you take it. AND, I think it's an ingredient in meth, so people sometimes might look at you funny if you have it or buy it.

Sure . . . my Batch party night, some of my friends and I go down to Memphis to schmooze it up. They give me one of these pills about 7:00 p.m. and explain "hey, it's OTC and SAFE! Take it and we'll have a ball."

So, I do . . . and . . . WE DID!

I freaking drank everything . . . till the weeeee hours of the morning. I mean, I could drink back then, but not like THAT. We partied till about 3:00 in the damn morning, and then went back to our hotel. I got on the phone with a friend, and ended up going over there till, ohhh . . . 10 the next morning (didn't sleep). Then, we drove back home, and I went to bed about 9 that next night.

I wasn't sick, I wasn't jumpy, no headache . . . just AWAKE. It was scary. I loved it. I won't do it again in fear that, hehehehe, I'll do it again.

My experiance.....well....

I took it when I worked a 3rd shift job....in MASS quantities.
We use to call them white crosses cause they had a little cross punched out in the middle of them.... I would take 6-10 of these pills a night along with a bottle of Jolt Cola and several cups of coffee....well..... I would be so hyped up every inch of my body would tingle....I felt like I could feel the hair growing on my head and legs... and I would be balls to the wall till about 7:00 in the morning, then I would crash HARD. When I started getting really nice chest pains is when I quit taking them....

Never caused me to lose weight and actually I was working out pretty hard at the time and got pretty stout.... and I am one of those people with a pretty fast Metabolism anyways.... I don't know if I would use it to lose weight, cause it did nothing in that department for me....

Well, I've taken the stuff in a regular energy supplement (Up Your Gas), and it works REAL well that way. Puts No-Doze to shame actually http://discussanything.com/Ubb/biggrin.gif No side effects that way at all for me.

When I tried this weight loss stuff called Hydroxicuts with ephedrine and some other stuff in it though, that left me wired and jittery. Alot stronger doses though, and the other ingredients probably add to the effect. There's a seperate post here on the Hydroxicuts though...

I took my first dose about 2 hours ago, and I started to feel it almost immediately. It's like being wired on caffeine, but without the twitching. Nice.
