In these times of trouble has anyone seen themselves becoming more religious? If so how so?

i actually fasted for my first time for Yom Kippour this year.

I don't because i can't....i get sick when i don't eat.

It's not REQUIRED to fast, it's only if you are able, and i thought to myself..i am able, i just don't because of headache, and stomach cramps when i don't eat.

I felt that it was nothing compared to what some of the people had gone through in those towers.

I have heard stories of chuches filling up, and old ladies would be sitting next to gang members, and so on.

I like to trash religion, but it is helpful at times. And anything that helps people cant be all bad.

As for me, I have just been thinking about life and death more.

I would not say I have found religion, because I have always had it. I would say that I am more aware of my religious beliefs, and practicing them more. I am spending more time praying for myself and others.

I have lost people close to me that were too young to die and that is when I always question religion but I am too lazy or busy to find answers because for me, I don't think they are just going to come from church. My best friends little brother (age 13) died in a car accident 4 weeks ago and we are all looking for answers. She and I are going to take a Faith and Doubt class in the Spring to see if some questions can be answered and we can become more knowlegdeble in the catholic religion that has always before now been forced upon us by parents and catholic school!
