I saw a quick blip on the news about some enzime in soy mixing with calcium to grow kidney stones. If its true, its not the perfect food that everyone on the bandwagon believes it to be.

I wouldn't believe a thing about health on mainstream news, there is always a food industry or a drug company trying make healthy foods look bad because they compete against their toxic brands. And compared to Cow Milk It's like comparing sewer water to Orange juice. And there is always Rice Milk for those that don't like Soy, It tastes alot better IMO..

I just did a bunch of research and all the studies seem to confirm tremendous health benefits of soy, and that soy products actually improve kidney funtion. I learn more good things about the stuff each time I research it.

Anyway, here is a quote...

Although kidney stones are not life-threatening, they can be a very painful condition. Many of these stones contain calcium, and high amounts of calcium in the urine can cause kidney stone formation. Since high intake of animal protein increases calcium loss in the urine, people who tend to form kidney stones are often advised to reduce their intake of animal protein. One large study showed that the more animal protein men ate, the more likely they were to form kidney stones. Replacing some animal protein in the diet with soy protein may reduce kidney stone formation since soy protein does not raise the level of calcium in the urine as much as animal protein

Another study said to prevent kidney stones:

Avoid sugar (check ingredients for hidden sources of sugar), alcohol, antacids, excessive protein, dairy products (especially milk), salt, carbonated beverages, caffeine, and refined white flour products such as pasta, white bread, and baked goods.
