I am a bit soda fan, but I try to get my daily water.

People don't realize how much 1-2 gallons of water is. You REALLY need to force yourself to drink that much water.

Thanks for that post Bill.

I used to drink that crap and Dr Pepper. It is poison. Nothing but water, fresh fruit and veggie juice for the past few years. And chocolate Vitasoy soy milk of course. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/wink.gif

Im trying man! It is just so tasty ;-)

But honestly, with all the calories in sodas, and the negative side affects, perservatives, acids, sugars, I should be drinking less.

I dont care what anyones says, I am addicted to pepsi. I need at least 2 a day, but can have 4 or 5. I know its bad, but its the caffine/suger, and in 30 years, people will look at pop like we look at cigerettes.

But I was up to like 5 a day before I got sick, and that was not good.

As your newly appointed discussion leader in this area, I will try to think of a way to get everyone off the soda and on the veggie/fruit juice routine in addition to water. Then we kick it up a notch and drink not just regular spring water, but magnetized water that really helps flush out the toxins in the body.

I will start by making a comitment to drink no more than 1-2 sodas a week. Anyone wanna join me?

Another thing to remmeber about those fruit juices. Just cause they are 'fruit' juice doesn't mean they are healthy! A lot of them are loaded with addatives/sugars/etc.

Where do things liek Gatorade fall into that spectrum?

Can you explain the differences between tap water, 'natural spring' water and magnetic water?

Like Scott said and CA indicated "Sport drinks" contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, ester gum, sunflower oil, Yellow 5, Blue 1 and who knows what else.

Tap water has toxic additives such as floride and chlorine. Spring water is alledgedly from places where it is abundent like Maine and Vermont. To magnetize the water, place a gallon jug on a specially made magnet designed for that purpose. In 3 hours or so the water or juice or whatever beverage you want will be magnetized to supposedly help cleanse the body by supercharging the fluid so it flows better.

All you need to do is get a Juiceman like I have got http://www.salton-maxim.com/salton/juiceman/juiceman.asp
or try a Vitamix http://www.vita-mix.com/ or similar juicer.

The Juiceman is about $160, the Vitamix is a unique unit and about $400. It is special because it grind up all of the material so there is no waste to clean up like with the juiceman. I would get the Vitamix if my Juiceman broke down. But it seems very tough, almost daily use for 2 years.

Then just pick up apples, carrots, ginger, parsley, beets and other veggies and fruits (organic if possible) and juice them. I basically try to do 2 apples and 5 carrots and a small chunck of ginger daily.

Well, I can attempt to only have 2 a day. Ive been drinking some fresh carrot juice, and a little more water. I kinda feel healthy, but Im sure that odd feeling will pass. One other thing to try is shakes with bananas and other fruit.

Hows it taste?
Really, is it gross or tasty?

The taste has a lot to do with the freshness and compination of the ingredients and if it is chilled a little bit. But the apples and carrots are nice and sweet. The one veggie that is great for cleansing your internals is wheatgrass and that is not easy to develop a taste for. It is usually served in a shotglass at health food type stores.

HUmm, ginger in a drink? I like ginger candy, and chinese ginger beef, but not sure if i would like it in a fruit drink.

Snouter

Yes, the Ginger is great for your digestion. I cut a piece about the size of a grape and juice it followed by a few carrots to make sure it all comes through. A little goes a long way and it adds a nice bite to the taste.

well, here's to dedication. My mom was asking me what I want for my birthday...I asked not for car parts. Not for computer components, or Cds. I asked for a juicer.

I have and recommend the Juiceman II. Here it is for $160. Tell Salton that you have an internet price you want them to match and give them the link. (That's what I did 2 years ago). Stay away from the less powerful models. The white plastic will stain over time. Stainless steel would be great but, no big deal though. The only difference on the more expensive model is a larger slot to put in the fruit and veggies which is unnecessary.
