A local radio show was talking about detoxifying your body, I was wondering what anyone knows about that?

There are theories that the two sources of health problems are pollutants and or parasites. Pollutants include solvents (benezene, industrial alcohol), metals (amalgam tooth fillings are a major problem), Mycotoxins (moldy food), physical toxins (fiberglass and asbestos), and chemical toxins. When the body has enough toxic elements in it, the immune system fails and disease results.

That's why I recommend eating things that help detoxify the body as well as provide nutrition and energy such as raw fruit and raw veggies. There are a number of detox teas and supplements that also help. Wheatgrass juice is famous for its detoxifying effects to help draw out heavy metal buildup, etc.

After you have done some preliminary detoxification you can focus on the liver. The liver is a primary detoxifying organ and can be "cleaned" periodically. There are two types of liver cleanses I know of. One involves drinking a half cup of unrefined olive oil mixed with lemon juice each morning for a week. The other involves fasting, drinking epson salts and then drinking even more olive oil over a 12 hour period.
