Anyone watch the show. It used to be just on the sci fi station, but now it is being shown on the networks I think. I saw a taping of a show live last January. It is quite real from what I can tell. There were strict rules, such as no talking, to insure there is no possible way John could make any guesses. Each taping is about 3 hours from which they create one or two half hour shows.

To me it is clear evidence of life energy beyond the everyday life as we see it. The energies that communicate through John could be various angels since they are immortal and certain ones see everything in life we do. Or they could be the actual humanoidal spirit entities existing on a different plane.

Anyone see the show? Any opinions or ideas?

I haven't watched it, but I have friends that do. Basically, the guy seems legit. His ONLY black mark is that he only works with the Sci-Fi channel, so people are expecting it to be a hoax.

I haven't seen anyone try to debunk him, yet, and, the little I've seen goes WAY beyond the generalism you'll get from a "regular" psychic.

Eventually, someone is going to do a study on him . . . it could prove to be quite interesting.

True psychics, mediums, know when to keep their damn mouths shut. He doesn't tell anybody anything about the future, which is best for the natural progression of events. All he really does is comfort people by giving them tiny pieces of history and some suggestions (NOT premonitions) of how to solve certain issues. The fact that he's capitalizing on his talents (supernatural or not) does bother me, though.

Any energy that can be perceived can be tapped, but there's always a cost. If he's truly manipulating energies, he'll likely die young. That kind of thing drains you.

To be fair, I think we have to consider that psychic. I can barely give the history of people I've known for years. With total strangers, I know I would be even worse. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/wink.gif

If anyone is interested, contact them to get free tickets. The studio is located in Manhattan. There is probably a 6 month waiting list.

i dont know how he does it, but im still highly skeptical. it looks like a bunch of crap to me. psychics, energies, deities, ghosts, ghouls, whatever, i think its all BS. if he was really legit, the whole world would be up in arms and he'd be the next nostradamus by now.

Anyone who claims to be psychic is full of a big ol bucket's worth o' horse ****.

I don't know how these con artists sleep at night or why they're allowed to bilk the public.

I don't break for people who claim to be able to channel the paranormal.

Hey Snouter --

I've always wondered whether or not they interview people before the show. When he's communicating with the dead, they often cut to photos of the deceased. Are those edited in afterwards, or do people bring them to the show?

I kinda believe that maybe he's legit -- although you never know.

I've seen the show (against my better judgement). He uses people's emotions as clues and pieces reactions together. His end result is a vague question like, "Do you know someone who's name starts with H?"

I can't believe SciFi even shows this guy.

That was pretty much my assessment. I don't buy it.

Excellent question and good observation. As soon as you enter the theater, the assistants ask that there be absolutely no talking whatsoever. Audience members sign a release form so that the taping is the property of the production company. The half hour show is edited down from a few hours and broadcast a few months later so they have time to insert edits such as pictures. But they ask those who are "read" to immediately do an interview after the show so it can be integraded into the final product. It doesn't always go smoothly because sometimes someone he is doing a "reading" on doesn't recall the name of the crossed over friend or relative very late in the "reading." That's why he recommends taking notes so when people get home they can remember the incedent or name he tried to get them to acknowledge.
