Guitarophile 08-20-2001, 02:27 PM I know most of you have been itching to hurl your beliefs around like so much cream pie, and here's your chance! Sound off like you've got a diety, soldier!

Snouter 08-20-2001, 11:33 PM There has to be only one Creator and team of Creators. Maybe the question is this: Is it okay to call this particular creative entity(s) by different names?
Then, of course, we have to get in the evolution versus creation debate because we must try to figure out how the Creator created everything in the universe and set it in motion. Was this Creator the same who created the humanoids on Earth? What ancient documents and artifacts can help us ascertain the facts?
I just saw the bogus remake of The Planet of The Apes. What a piece of garbage that movie was! It was like a politcally correct high school project came up with the story board and dialog. Amatuerish, predictable and offensive. The original was light years better in every way.
Anyhow, the theory was that a space ship landed and and labratory monkeys evolved into evil, talking apes; and humans devolved into a bunch of freaks. Their premise is partly true, regarding the humans, http://discussanything.com/Ubb/wink.gif but the apes should have evolved into humans according to Darwin BS. But the evidence we have is that no specie can breed with another specie. Neandertal and CroMagnon lived at the same time Humans did. They were not links to humans, just different species that died out.
Throughout all biological history all we have are speicies dying out. Never do we have a new specie emerge; which is what Darwinism would demand.
Evolution versus creation debate....Let's get it on. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/wink.gif
Guitarophile 08-21-2001, 01:44 AM Take it to a new thread, hooligan. This is just to ascertain who everybody prays to on lotto night.

I'm jewish, but quite frankly, I don't believe in gods or devils or any spiritual superbeing. I do believe in afterlife and all kinds of other freaky shit, but not god.
The only references to 'god' you'd catch me on would be to 'Bog and his mighty heaven' (A Clockwork Orange) and Jebus (Simpsons).

Aphasia 08-23-2001, 12:22 AM Officially, I'm Lutheran. I do believe most of the things they say, in general, but I'd have to say that I have my own views on religion and spirituality - I don't think there's any one organized religion that embodies all my views (it's more or less a mix of about 7 different faiths). I'm more spiritual than religious, too - I get more out of meditating and doing yoga than I do out of reading the Bible, spiritually.

CodyChaos 08-23-2001, 09:53 PM Why everybody knows God is an Old White Guy with a long white beard who lives on a cloud in the upper regions of the atmosphere and makes the sun revolve around the earth. I have a close personal relationship with him and he guides me through life as he sees fit. His anti thesis is an evil red skinned beast with huge horn that reigns over a firey kingdom somewhere south of the equator. If you are bad you get sent to him and he whips you with wet noodle for all eternity. Between the two of them they define ALL reality and their followers define history. They have always been and nobody ever thinks where they came from but I accept their intangible existence because my parents and neighbors tell me so. YEA RRRRRRIIIIGGGGGHHHTTT.

WitchiePoo 08-24-2001, 01:27 AM Basically all I want to say is I am Wiccan but I am not restricted to its belief system. I think true spirtuality is a stem of your own beliefs rather than your own religion. Religion and Spirtuality are two different things. I guess I would have to say I have more than one God and Goddess, but I also believe in energies, which to me is more spirtuality based. Anyways thats my philosophy. Believe what they wilt. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/smile.gif

same. Southern Baptist at that! D'oh!
I don't like big churches so I don't go here in the city... they are just too fake. I can't stand to see a bulletin in church that shows the financial standing. That is totally unnecesary. I only go to my small town church back home were money doesn't matter.

For those who might not be familiar with it...
Main Entry: de·ism
Pronunciation: 'dE-"i-z&m, 'dA-
Function: noun
Usage: often capitalized
Date: 1682
: a movement or system of thought advocating natural religion, emphasizing morality, and in the 18th century denying the interference of the Creator with the laws of the universe.
I find it fits well with my belief in Free Will and my political outlook – Libertarianism. I also look for the positive ideas in all of the world's religions. You can find insight and wisdom within them all.
