I must admit I am always on the go..working, running, hanging out, etc.. I do feel though I get an adequate amount of sleep.

For instance, I worked until 2 am Sunday morning. I went to sleep around 3-woke up at 10 am..Went back to sleep at 12-4, and back to bed at 10-till 6:30 this morning. Mmkay..that is alot of sleep..So today at work, I cannot even keep my eyes open. I feel bad, and want to close my eyes for some sleep. No matter what time of the day I can go to sleep..Any suggestions? Mono has been eliminated. Could it be my diet?

What do you typically consume each day as far as food and drink? Refined food? White flour? White sugar? Soda? Other toxic American corporate foods?

Sleep is essential for the internal organs to be given the opportunity to self clean which occurs during the night. The later we all stay up, the more difficult it is on our bodies natural cycles.

You can check out supplements like Siberian Ginseng after you make sure the diet and nutrition is fine tuned.

You know, if I get too much sleep (which I've been known to do), I'm even more tired.

Try waking up better in the mornings - I need coffee or a brisk walk or something like that to wake me up entirely before I try to do anything monotonous (ie. go to work) - otherwise, I always fall asleep on the job. (I work in a southwestern store, so I have some caffeine before work, then I dance to salsa music while I sweep the floors in the morning - it's a great wake-up). Also, try snacks (like fruit or vegetables) while at work, to keep your blood sugar high. Carbs are terrible for making you sleepy (same with grease).

Exercising throughout the day makes your sleep more productive at night, apparently, so the more active you are, the more awake you'll be when you wake up. And when you do sleep, it should all be in one chunk, at night, rather than in naps throughout the day - I know that when I think about the fact that I could be napping, it makes me more tired, just because I'm used to sleeping whenever I want to, be in 11 am or 2 am or 2 pm or 10 pm.

I've actually been worrying lately that I have chronic fatigue or sleep deprivation - too many school nights at 4 hours (or less) of sleep have left me able to sleep for days straight, which is kinda creepy, and driving my parents nuts (being as I'm home for the next two weeks). I have the amazing ability to sleep anywhere, anytime...except when I want to (like now, 5 1/2 hours before I have to get up for work...freaking insomnia. Talk to me at 2 tomorrow afternoon, though, and that'll be a different story altogether.)

Aphasia, You and I sound somewhat alike in our sleep patterns..

Actually My mom and I were discussing my diet and she thinks perhaps I eat to much bread during the day. I know that I do not eat well, I eat on the go constantly. Not necessarily Fast Food, but not home cooking either.

To many carbs? That includes breads? Sorry, I am not big on the nutrition factors. As for as soda, I do not drink alot. Perhaps One/Two at the most, and that is Sprite.

All, I know is that I have not been up for a hour and I am looking for somewhere to go lie down..

Really, eat more veggies. There is no need to sleep at normal times, but your body needs regularity. You need to try and get a schedule and stick to it.

Also, do you talk any multivitamins? You may wanna take one when ya wake up and one before bed.

A little warning about Centrum..

Don't waste your money, seriously, they are the lowest quality vitamins you can buy. They are completely unabsorbable by the body, they are the only vitamins that are routinely found intact by workers cleaning out outhouses. Think about it..

Your best bet is to find a local health food store or GNC and get yourself something of much better quality.

Exercise . . . that's the thing.

My ex was a fireball in college. . . never slept. Worked, partied (while I was gone, of course!), karate . . . you name it. She got out of school, and didn't continue any kind of physical activity (NONE . . . and yes, it includes THAT, too!). In about 3 months, she was sleeping 12-14 hours a day. She would even come home at lunch and sleep 2 or 3 hours.

She started exercising, and it all changed back to "normal" . . . until she quit again.

I run CONSTANTLY, and I don't feel the need to sleep much. But, when I do . . . it's dead Jim!

I can attest to the exercise thing.

Before my divorce, I worked out all the time (was actually in pretty decent shape....LOL) Had energy and the whole 9 yards...then I just quit doing it all. Now I'm a bum....no energy, nothing. But I know my sleeping pattern is not the greatest either. I fall asleep anywhere between 12:00 am and 3:00 am....back up at 5:30-6:00 am, work, do what ever after work....repeat cycle....

Jester, you should look into getting some sexercise. It's very important that you keep yourself in good shape, and a healthy regiment of sexercise will do it. My cholesterol has dropped 100 points in the last 3 months, and it's only because I've been getting more sexercise . . . especially since the divorce.

Sexercise is even better when you do it with a partner. Although, after being married for about 6 years to a woman so cold that when she spread her legs a little light came on, I've found that I could sexercise alone for hours and work up quite a sweat . . .
