I didn't have a radio or anything in my car, and it became a little boring, so I bought a Sony CDX-L350 (http://www.xplodsony.com/products/?CATEGORY=CD&MD=CDX-L350). It's an entrylevel radio/cd combo, but I'm very happy with it. It's easy to hook up, and it does NOT skip. I own a Mini and I've just been driving on very bumpy roads for half an hour, and it didn't skip once. The display is also clear and non intrusive. It has some colors but not many moving icons or other annoying useless stuff. I don't have an amp but its 4x45W so more than enough for my lil car.

If you're looking for a fairly cheap ($169) entrylevel radio/cd combo with all the default options, give this one a chance.
