When I first got this game, I was'nt very impressed with it. Sure, the graphics were good, and an improvement over previous versions of the game. But what, if anything, new did the game add? There is Bombing Run...which is ok, I guess. And they changed the rules for Domination. Many of the maps are re-makes of popular UT maps. But that's about it. I can't believe I actually ponied up $35 for the game, and I still have'nt got the editor to even run.

Does anyone else have this? Impressions?

I was/am a HUGE UT fan. I play, map and review levels.

I was VERY excited about UT 2003 and after seeing the updates on the new engine I could not wait to get my hands on it.

My thoughts?

I really like Bombing run - fun as hell.

The new link gun set-up is sweet!!

I can't lob rockets anymore.... :(

I like the new Domination set-up.

Most of the new maps kinda suck. The design is uninspired and boring. A few that *I* like are the new Phobos and the forest map - that one is sweet.

Over all I feel the mapping is what stopped this from being a huge hit. The levels feel rushed and I felt the design sucked.

I am collecting "aftermarket" maps right now, but most of the time I fire up the original UT and have at 'er.


My thoughts.

Mostly they Imporved AI, and the game Physics. You move like you should in the environment that your in, or any special rules that you may have turned on, like low gravity. And the bots use the environment to there advantage. Other then that they just tweeked the game play that has everybody else hooked.

I've played the demo and was pretty impressed with the Grapihic's but got board of the game pretty quick, it seemed like i only liked the modded stuff of i was bored.

Now I love it. PLay every stinking day.. or I should say I get my butt kicked every stinking day.

We need to start a DA UT2003 leauge. :)

The thing to look for with this game is the mods coming out for it, The Third Riech and Red Orchestra look very promising.

The game itself was a bit of a let down, but once the modders get going fullsteam on this engine , look out!

The game has grown on me somewhat...but as far as I can tell, the editor does not work. The patch to fix the editor does not work. And I'm not interested in the game enough to download the BIG patch to see if that fixes it.

The graphics are cool though.

I like it. I've got a pretty tweaky videocard that can belt out some graphics, so I can actually turn up the detail and enjoy the scenery. If I had broadband out here, I would issue you guys some spankings.
