My grandmother died in March in my father's home, and has recently come to my step-mother's bedside. She told my step that everything is ok. My step is not one who would just say something like this and it really shook her up. My dad has heard her footsteps (she shuffled in her houseslippers) and some of my son's toys have gone off (and they are the kind that you have to touch a button to turn them on). Just the other day, I was putting on and admiring a ring she gave me just before she died and a hat flew across the room - and I was alone. I'm not at all afraid of this, I welcome it and hope I can see her.

Has anyone else had this kind of experience?

While that's never happened to me, Demeter, I've heard stories of loved ones coming in a vision to their family members. Your story sounds more along the lines of "ghost" though.

Agreed. A spectre more specifically.

Wouldn't that be a polergeist, since it affects matter?

Well, my mom had some 'strange' things happen when her father died.

She was in Indian on the one year anniversary of his death, and the night before my mom, along with two of her sisters, had a dream where their father came to them, told them everything is alright, he is fine, and he loves them.

They described the dream identically...

I think there are some amazing things that happen...

This is a VERY VERY common thing. I remember that I dreamt about my grandmother talking to me and advising me shortly after she died. It was so lucid that I could have sworn that I was awake.

I agree. My grandmother died at home in '94. Grandpa moved out of the house in '97, and Mom and Dad moved in. My sister told me a couple of years ago that the same thing happens to her - her bedroom is in the basement of the house, and she said that she sees Grandma all the time. I don't discount it, because I got the same impressions while stayiing in that room while home on vacation in '96 - it was a little weird to hear my sister telling me about the exact same feelings that I experienced while staying in that room - before Grandpa had moved out of the house.

Odd, I guess...

Poltergeist for some occasions, yes, but the sound ones I'm not so sure.
