Who all considers themselves a "Trekkie" or "Trekker"?
What's the difference between the two? Who really cares? Are you one of those people who has every single episode ever made on DVD? Do you collect or make models of star-ships? ARe you one of those people who dresses like an alien and goes oft to conventions?

I used to be one who collected models 'n stuff. I've just recently rekindled my liking for Star Trek. What's everyone else's take on Star Trek?

I knew Scotts AIM name was Trekker (for ST) but I never really knew that the fans called themsleves trekkers. I always heard trekkies.

i really like ST:TNG. also went to a ST movie marathon which showed I - VI. but i don't consider myself a trekkie (that's the term i always heard).

I always heard "Trekkie" as I was growing up, but then I started hearing the word "Trekker" and I thought "What have these nerds come up with now?" Of course I am one of those nerds to a certain degree, but it's not a life obsession. ;)

TheFrog speaks the truth!

I'm a Trekker.

Diabhal, this is a great subject. Long overdue, IMO.

By definition:

Trekkie: Original series, wears uniforms and owns Spock ears, attends conventions, has no life, and is still a virgin... LOL
Trekker: Same as above, but likes STNG, Voyager, DS9, etc...
Trekkor: Person who LIKES the shows, and usually has a favorite, but doesn't take it to extreme.. i.e. HAS A LIFE.

There's a 3rd category, Trekkor?

Alex, you forgot one category:

- Tr3x0r: Person who isnt a fan, but enjoys downloading and watching it on his/her computer. Gotta watch something after all, innit?

If you enjoy downloading and watching it, doesn't that make you a semi-fan at least?

Well, I got my Name From Star Trek... in the Mid-70's when it was rerunning almost every night.. and Kids could really distinguish Kirk, and Kurt... Plus, I liked the show so it Stuck...

I would Say they are pretty much one in the same.. Trekker is just an Updated Term for Trekkie.. And sounds better to me anyways...
