Powerboss 10-29-2001, 12:27 AM Yeah.
Schilling and Johnson both looked superb.
It will be different in New York but I think if they can pull off 1 win there they will win it.
But you never can count the Yankees out.

Snouter 10-29-2001, 03:53 PM It should get interesting. Maybe the cold weather will help the Yankees.
Contraband 10-30-2001, 11:35 AM How do you like this scenario?
Clemens cleans up tonight, the yankees get their bats back and crush the dbacks moral. Schilling pitches tomorow on 3 days rest and gets torn apart. Johnson pitches on 3 days rest and it is a close one, but damn that mussina he can pitch. Game 6 brings out pettite and anderson (who?) comes back to pitch for dbacks. Then in a wonderful game 7, clemens pitches a complete game no hitter that reminds us that johnson learned everything he knows from the rocket. Just a thought...

No Joke

Sounds good. Arizona is a great state and they have a great team, but it would be nice for the country if the New York team managed to win this year in defiance of the stress the city has experienced lately.
That is so unlike you to state something like that Snouter.
And that is something that has bothered me about the Yankees. Having a pep rally at the disaster site is such poor taste and trying to identify with the whole disaster thing. It just rubs me the wrong way.
NY has won too damn many, especially recently. Its time to see someone else for a change, I would be rooting or any team that played against the Yankees.
Anderson pitched well.
AZ gave them that game tonight. Damian Miller needs to go practice catching fouls.
Schilling Wed. The best pitcher in baseball right now.
That means we'd have him for game 7 too.

Snouter 10-31-2001, 04:12 PM I realize what you mean about my comment Bill. I agree with you, but I guess it because I am not much of a baseball fan. Years ago I liked the Red Sox when they were the Yankees rivals. Maybe that is why I have a tendency to root for former Red Sox Roger Clemens. I suppose the Yankees they will have a parade through Manhattan if they win or lose.
I generally dislike New York teams because they are usually in flux because of big money and impatience.
Powerboss 11-01-2001, 04:15 AM AGGHHHHHHHH!
That game was STOLEN! Someone call the police.

Hot damn. Phase one of my plan is excellently intact. My friend was saying to me last night do you think the yankees know? Meaning- They are so riduculous, that they wanted to make the series fun. The threw the first 2 games because they new they couldn't lose in yankee stadium. I just picture george steinbrenner up in the box seats, getting on the phone to the dugout in the bottom of the 9th and 10th. "Okay- stop screwing around. Time for a home run."
Go Yankees!

Snouter 11-02-2001, 12:12 AM I just saw some of the game and with 2 outs a Yankee hits a pop up and O'Neil of the Yankees jogs around second base as he looks at the play instead of hustling his ass and looking at the 3rd base coach to see if he should head for home. Maybe O'Neil has an injury, but this nonchalant attitude in professional sports irks me. The outfielder dropped the ball and O'Neil should have scored on the play had he been hustling like a Pete Rose or other gritty old school player that would give 110%. Between lack of communication on defense and taking too casual an attitude running bases, some of the highlights of professional players in these games should be examples to youngters of what not to do.

I want to know what Bob Brenley was thinking when he put Kim in again.
I mean Im no HUGE basefall fan, but shit, even I knew that was a bad thing putting him in again after getting spanked the night before.
Corporate Avenger 11-02-2001, 03:57 AM Me too, I saw him go in in the bottom of the ninth and I thought, "it can't happen again, can it?". The same thing happening two games in a row is unbelievable.

The Yankees have it in their mind not to lose no matter what. I don't care who they put on the mound, same result.
Thaaaaaaaaaa Yankees win... Thaaaaaaaaa Yankees win.
They are just flat out an incredible ball club from top to bottom. I love Soriano that guy can flat out play. The defensive play he made was every bit as big as Brocaus' 2 run homer. The kid the came back to hit the game winning rbi, baseball is a kick ass game I'm loving it more and more every year I follow it.
92Notch 11-02-2001, 07:00 PM I'm an Orioles fan; the Yankees always kick our butts .... So, who ever is playing against the Yankees is who I'm rooting for (I will not put any money on it though :) ) ...... go Diamondbacks!!!!!!
Powerboss 11-04-2001, 03:13 AM Yeeeehaaawwwww!
A spanking! 15-2
Game 7 will be EXCELLENT.
Go Diamondbacks!
:p :p :p
Contraband 11-04-2001, 03:32 AM Dont mess with Clemens. He's from texas.
And he taught schilling everything he knows.
Snouter 11-04-2001, 08:52 AM D-Backs better watch out for high and inside fast balls. ;)
Contraband 11-04-2001, 02:46 PM They better watch out for high and inside thrown bats.
Foul Temptress 11-04-2001, 03:51 PM GO DIAMONDBACKS!!!!
Corporate Avenger 11-04-2001, 10:48 PM It's sad to see Arizona go this far and then fall apart at the end of the seventh game..
Corporate Avenger 11-04-2001, 11:57 PM Damn it worked! Whoever I think will a sports game always loses. :D :D
