An Abductee's Story
By Billy Watkins
bwatkins@clarionledger.com

GAUTIER — Charles Hickson has no proof.

No photograph he can pull from his wallet, no papers certifying his story.

Just his word that 29 years ago this month he and a fishing buddy were abducted by a UFO, examined by a machine resembling a giant eyeball, then released physically unharmed.

He has told his story under hypnosis, told it to Johnny Carson on national TV.

Recently, while sipping coffee in his modest home in Gautier, he told the story to a Clarion-Ledger reporter.

His account of that night never changes. He has passed numerous lie-detector tests.

What Hickson hasn't talked about publicly, until now, is that he believes whatever — or whoever — was on that craft has kept track of him.

"I think they know where I am at all times," he says. "Too many strange things have happened."

Kind of like scientists put radio tags on wild animals, huh?

Excellent analogy, SM.

What gets me is how some abductees never have 1 change in their story and can pass lie detector tests, but people still find doubt in their account.

I doubt some of the tales, but those I believe something actually happened to them. Whether or not it was aliens is up for debate. Me personally, I think it's about just as likely it was the NSA as it was an E.T.

Could be for some of them, but I doubt the NSA had big floating eyeball things back in 73...:D

I've had a close encounter with a UFO myself, I know exactly what I saw, for me, I don't really care whether people believe me or not. What I saw couldn't have been from this planet, I just wish it would come back...

What bothers me is how many humans do you have to poke to find out what they are made of? I mean, are these scientific field trips or something?

I've seen a few things I have no explanation for, but then again, I was alone at the time.

Do those of you who live in the LA or LA Valley area remember a few years back those floating lights above the valley? They were seen over Phoenix, too, weren't they?

And as for the NSA not having a floating eyeball thing in /73, well...who knows? They were tracking the Galileo II satellite by its radiation--about as much as a wristwatch--in...what year again? I forget (the curse of not being alive when the stuff happened).

Above the valley? As far as I know they were only seen over Phoenix, unless it was a completely different sighting??

I don't know, from what the guy described I don't think it could have been the NSA.

Yeah, there were these hovering lights one night. Freaked me out, but the news said it was some stationary military surveillance device *cough cough BULL cough cough*.
