It is that time of year folks. The Major League Baseball All-Star game. Anyone interested. The home run derby was last night. Gonzales won. These things are ok but almost useless. Any thoughts?

I was wondering is the pitcher gave that home run away to Ripken as a retirement gift. Seems fishy that a pitcher with the lowest batting avg would rig one into the stands on his way out of the game. It seems like a strategic move to help baseball. If they are not careful, baseball could become as staged as the WWF! But that a long way off http://discussanything.com/Ubb/wink.gif

Chan Ho Pak is a class act. I mean to tell you and I would not doubt for a minute that he gave Cal something good to look at. That does not mean that the HR is automatic. Yes the whole thing is very good for baseball. Cal Ripken Jr. playing in his last All-Star game rips a homer and gets the MVP. All-Star games are just exhibitions anyway so this was the proper venue to do so. When McGuire was chasing the home run record there were pitchers giving him good stuff when the game was not on the line in efforts to be a part off that history. So sometimes the fix is in but I don't think it hurts the integrity of the game because things like that are usually done when it really doesn't matter who wins or the game is already decided because of a big lead or something.
