View Full Version : Wicca...who's a witch?
Saiya00 11-02-2002, 02:27 PM Who out there is a witch? I'm trying to find some online corresspondances, and I figured that a posting forum would be a great place to do it. Anyway, send me a PM, or email me: Slippy22@cheerful.com.
I'd really like to have someone to dicuss deities, and spells with!
:) *Saiya00*
Scott 11-02-2002, 03:11 PM well...
i have some pagan views...
check out...www.mysticwicks.com it's a great online comunity
Monster 11-02-2002, 05:43 PM I, too, have some "pegan" views, although I don't subscribe to any particular practice, faith, or what have you. My better half, however, said she is Wiccan, and I've got several other friends who are, too. I'll see if I can get them onto DA.
Drew, ask Dezzy to join, would ya?
TheGreatMonkey 11-02-2002, 05:46 PM Like Zach I don't subscribe to any perticular religion, but hve many "Pagan" views.
Sure thing, you lucking I'm going to Grant on Friday.
Ponycar_302 11-02-2002, 06:47 PM Raynewitch is a witch. Ask her about it.
Rayney 11-02-2002, 10:11 PM Thanks Ponycar - I ought to get you to be my PR guy :) Ohh I gotta answer that PM too ;)
Yeah Im a Witch, but Im not overly Wiccan. The Wiccan Rede bites for one thing. Ahem.
optimus 11-03-2002, 03:33 PM Can someone please explain this to me? Raynewitch? I'm curious about the whole thing. What is the appeal with wicca? What do you do anyway? Do you believe that your spells actually work? Is it a religion?
Did it become more popular over the years with you kids because of Buffy the vampire slayer?
(I'm not being an ass, I really am curious)
Thanks!
PissyPrincess 11-03-2002, 05:02 PM i am one too!!! not as good as my *twin* rayne but i am still practicing ... there are a few on here not many though ... but go to mysticwicks ... it's a good site :)
Snouter 11-03-2002, 05:11 PM optimus, that is what I wonder also. I have some information on some of the real witch cult of hundreds of years ago and the ingredients used for the "spells" involve precious bodily fluids among other things. The witch "sorcery" is a delusion.
True magic is the greatest of all natural science because it includes comprehension of the visible and invisivle nature of the cosmos. Spiritual knowledge and wisdom are far beyond the realm of conjuring, ceremonies and dealings with the devil. Magic is an art that must be acquired throught practical experience.
I hesitate to describe the potions sorcery and witchcraft relied on in the past, but it is disgusting.

OK briefly (since Im not feeling like I want everyone to know the ins and outs of what i do) ;):
Im not Wiccan. I used to practice the Wiccan religion...but I dont anymore. I personally believe its a crock.
Witchcraft IS a religion....at least to me and other Witches, you will of course find others who disagree :)
The appeal - hmm that will differ from person to person. For me - it just feels right. The "connection" to the Gods/Goddesses is there etc etc.
What do you do anyway? - Again varies from person to person. I dont have any great need to Spells anymore....if it can be solved with normal and practical common sense why use magic? That said, I do of course need to stay in practice, but thats what Rituals are for ;) The Deities I "worship" are mostly the ask and you will receive type. Even if its not what I wanted really....I asked for it.
You need to believe your spells work...or they wont. Its all about will power and intent.
I was a Witch/Wiccan before Buffy was a TV show. Though I DO have the hots for Willow...and the character is great :) Im sure shows like Charmed and Buffy do encourage "us kids" into Witchcraft or whatever, but i think once they realise that there is actual work etc involved they drop it. Some of them anyway :)
Snouter - Body fluids etc are said to make the spells more effective. But there are substitutes for everything....usually :) Could you tell me where to find this information please? (Not that i will use it because, well the thought of using anything but saliva or non menstural blood really doesnt appeal to me.
suncrush3r 11-04-2002, 12:50 PM I am a neo-pagan. it's quite interesting actually it's a blending of classic gothic christanity with alot of pagan beliefs.
It can get confusing at times. I have been one since 1996.
A_open_Fire_ 11-05-2002, 10:06 PM i also have some pagen beliefs, id be willing to share with you. im very open with the fact that im wiccan, my mom is wiccan and so is my sister. I personally dont completly follow the path of a wiccan though i have my own ways for things, and i have some of my own beliefs..........
K~
jillianjiggs 11-05-2002, 10:26 PM I've got some pagan beliefs as well. I suppose you could see me as a witch, however, I don't follow wiccan beliefs or any other structured beliefs.
PissyPrincess 11-06-2002, 06:09 PM most dont really follow a religion really we just kinda adapt and take what feels right to us

Griff 11-08-2002, 08:48 AM You could check out Scott Cunningham's books, lots of good info there without a bunch of Hocus-Pokus (or was it hukus-cadabra?)

I agree on that one... I've been practicing... yet not practicing for almost 3 years now (in january)... and I'm actually thinking about kinda venturing away from Wicca, and maybe not having one set religion... there's too many rules for Wicca... like, the Rede says you HAVE to rhyme to bind the spell.... I don't rhyme... oh well... anyway, thanx for your opinion.
Saiya00 11-17-2002, 04:19 PM BTW, anyone on AIM? If you are and wana chat about stuff (spells, herbs, whatever) IM me... my sn is: dragonvampkiss
Monster 11-17-2002, 04:30 PM A_open_fire and myself both have our s/ns posted in our profiles.
