What settings do you like best? Real world? Real world with small twist? (wod, cyberpunk) Real world with a HUGE twist (Rifts, Shadowrun). Fantasy? sci fi?

I've always kind of like modern or near future settings best, usually with a mild twist. Also like science fiction games. Traveller used to be one of my favorites.

CoC - 1920's is good, but the 1890's limits your "back-up" choices, nicely! On the other hand, we've played in modern times as ourselves in the game, and THAT'S a blast!
I don't do much fantasy type stuff, anymore. Most of it is so far out there now that I can't comprehend the flow.
I think my favs are the slightly twisted present. A la WOD or cyberpunk (well SLIGHT future).
But a good ol fantasy game kicks butt too...

Im a fan the twisted present (WOD) but Ive found myself getting tired of running around in a big city fighting nasties with big machine guns. Im a bigger fan of the good old days when swords where abundant. Renassance seems like a nice time to play in, though I havent gotten a chance. And the WWI era may be an interesting one as well. I think overall im more of a fan of worlds based off some kind of history rather than entirely made up worlds.

not much. actual role playing is rare in my area. I played muds for a little while, but became tired of that quick. I find video games that have aspects i like, and thats about it.
