So I got a call today that I wasn't supposed to get. Apparently my higher ups have put the word out that they are looking for someone to employ as an avid editor. Hey, wait, that's what I do. Apparently I have a pink slip in my near future and I'm not too terribly upset because the owner of this place is a dickhead, but damn they're being *******s about it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do - quit, ask them what the deal is, ride it out as long as I can and get my much needed paychecks as long as possible..... I just don't know yet. Wish me luck.

qtr, maybe you (or someone else) knows more about unemployment. I thought you only got it if they "let you go" and not if you get fired. Is that not the case?
I'm thinking I'm going to ask the boss that I actually seem to get along with what the deal is. They don't know I know they're looking to replace me.

dude that really sucks man im sorry. i would start looking for another job right away while i kept working there. then you still have an income and the chance of getting unemployment. i think you get unemployment for getting canned or for getting "let go," because theyre essentially the same thing. i dont think the reason why you're fired has a bearing on it, but i could be wrong. i could always hook you up with a new and exciting career at domino's, just kidding. good luck man.

well I've got that covered, I've worked 2 years with no vacation and a couple sick days a year.
