OK, it's about time I made my official 'What irks me' list. Just about everyone else here has one. :D

Note: If you think you fall into one of these categories, it doesn't mean I hate you. I love you, it's just that some things irk me. ;)

Overly self-centered people
People who will not listen to another point of view, or engage in debate
Uptight, overly sensitive people with their panties in a bunch
Penny pinchers... oh, that one bugs me
Slow drivers
Liars
Ungrateful people
People who think they're perfect
Nihilistic, anti-life, humans-are-on-the-samelevel-as-a-chicken people
Anything 'new-agey'
Know-it-alls, who actually don't know it all
Materialism
Drugs, druggies
TV (well, 95% of what's on tv)
Pokemon
The mainstream media/propaganda
Racism and other isms
People who want to destroy America, and constantly chip away at our rights/liberties
hmmm..... if i think of anything else, i'll add it. :)

Perhaps I'm just not giving myself enough credit for some of them though;)

Why would you think you'd be much worse to me? :o Despite our differences, I think you're alright. :) See what I said at the beginning of my post?

I just like to get my head all filled with ideas that I'm the highest peak of evil:) Makes my ego all warm and fuzzy.

And I think the respect goes both ways, clearly we disagree, but what's the point in a discussion board where every reply is just ":werd:";)

And I didn't take it personally, I did read your post. All is well.:)

It does start to become addictive after a while. Have you seen the movie High Fidelity? Aside from the main character's problem's with relationships with women, I also heavily identified with his chronic list making qualities.

They certainly offer you an ability to step back from your thoughts and see the "big picture." Helped me cut back on my hypocrisy almost 38%!!!!

results may vary:|

Thanks Justin. :) No, I haven't seen the movie High Fidelity, but I have to read that book for one of my classes. (Fiction to Film)

...and if you don't mind me asking, what's this about problems with relationships w/ women? (i'm curious)

Oh, and I'm adding one more thing to my list...

people you thought were your friends, that end up not being true friends

A few years back, a "friend" of mine lied to me, stole from me [only $5, but it's the principle of it...], helped set me up to get "beaten up" [Read as "attacked by brainless Neanderthal". When we were broken up, he was on the ground and I was kicking him. Needless to say, he failed embarrasingly]. Because of that fight, I was suspended from school. A month later, he, knowing that if I was caught fighting once more I would be expelled, punched me in the face, entirely unprovoked. I could not fight back, I coulfd not respond in any way.

He did the same thing to his other friends. At the start of last year, he left my school. His other "friends" now dislike him as much as I did; he betrayed and backstabbed them all.

You remember that chick I was talking about a while back? She was once his girlfriend. She dumped him years, and he slit his wrists repeatedly to try and give her an attack of conscience.

I ****ing hate backstabbers. I hate "friends" who lie to you. I hate "friends" who go behind your back. I hate betrayers.

But...damn, what I love is friends who will lie for you. Friends who will keep secrets, friends who you can trust. Unfortunately, there's no good way to tell them apart...until it is too late.

I don't know about you Buttercup, but usually the only times that ever happened to me was when I allowed myself to see only the good side of a person with a large bad streak that others saw but I didn't because I was trying too hard to cut them slack and focus on the good.

One time in particular about 9 years ago really cut me deeply. Took a while for me to figure out just how I let it come to pass. Sometimes we just want so very much to believe the best of people we care about, we just don't see them for what they are.

Yes. I thought his ban was permanent, and considering that he has a long history of constanly breaking the rules, (more so than anyone on this site) personal attacks, thinking he's above the rules... it seems to me that his ban should've been longer than about 3 weeks, which is nothing. But that's what it was, you can check the dates of his last post under his old name and his first post under his new name.

I was really disappointed and disgusted when I saw one of the admins on a thread (the thread where I first realized he was back under a new name) being chummy and nonchalant with him as if he'd known for a while who this poster was, and was happy to have him back.

Why ban someone if you're just gonna let them come back in under another name?

Manu said he was gonna give him another chance, and that's what I had figured they were doing which is why I didn't bother saying anything. It's his site and its up to him how its run. I've been on message boards long enough to know that it's never always fair.

I reviewed the closed alabama thread. I don't get it.

Blunt is good. Snouter is blunt. FaDe is blunt. RWZ is blunt.

He is hanging himself. If he gets banned there is nothing anyone can do about it. Given the evidence how can anyone expect the admins to rule otherwise? They have been lenient and quite merciful if you ask me.

Baiting? I'm curious how this issue has come up. I read the whole thing and I don't see it.

Ok... I'm probably gonna catch a lot of flack for saying this, but I gotta say it.

I don't understand why some people who (I thought) are not racists hang out with and are buddy buddy with racists/NAZIs. I'm mostly talking about some people who post at the Phora... but also in general.

If they're there to debate or to show a different point of view, then I can understand that... but I've noticed some people who I thought were not racists just hang out there, no disagreeing going on.

Don't get me wrong... I don't hate the WN's.. in fact Spab said something one time that I agree with... I can't remember her exact words, but I think she said that she can see the good qualities they have, and that's how she tries to find common ground. (if i misquoted you Spab, i'm sorry...correct me) Also I want to say that I admit that I've got as many or more faults as the next person...so I'm not trying to put myself above anyone... I'm just saying that their ideology/outlook is what I find sick and sad. This is why I couldn't get chummy and spend a lot of time on a site like that (they probably feel the same way) and why I don't get how some (non-racists) do. I was actually sad to see a few DAers who I agree with on other things over there as regulars. Maybe they're not non-racists? I don't know, but I better quit now, because I'm rambling...

I just wanted to get that out there, feel free to answer, anyone.

You are sort of on track, but it's a bit more. It's that people are complex beings. What I do is take in information and then make educated guesses about why individuals do what they do, or think what they think. The thoughts and behaviors don't exist in a vacuum. And you'll notice I don't get along with all the nazis. Just some of them.

Take xxxxx say. I might look and see that this is a shy person who has a history of always being left out, of feeling unimportant, of feeling that they have no power to protect themselves or achieve goals. To me, that makes that person seem vulnerable and it's that underneath part that I can take the time and trouble to spend a bit of my posting time maybe dropping something that might build real self-esteem for them, in a post. The attachment to fascism seems to be based in low self-esteem, most cases. If there is a cure, it's acceptance and self-growth, difficult to accomplish since these people set themselves in a position to find neither.

Now others are different. Some children are trying to shock and startle adults and it's mostly a cry for attention with almost no real adherence to the beliefs.

Each individual is different and I try to treat them accordingly.

I love WNs. But not as much as they love me. :|

Seriously, this place has made me realize I am just as much a racist as anyone. I value the WNs point of view if not for any other reason than it causes me to think.

Consider the recent "Saving yourself" thread. I sum up the course of that thread here:

Banky is to christianity as snouter is to white america.

Now hang on and hear me out.................

I don't think the WNs owe anyone apologies for believing what they do. I certainly don't apologize for my point of view.

I love Banky and snouter.

The thing that ticks me off about the WNs is their dishonesty.

Ed Toner is an honest white supremacist. He doesn't lie about it. He doesn't take enjoyment out of mocking people either.

As much as I disagree with FaDe the Butcher, I confess I miss him on this board. He was honest about what he believed. He was well read and fun to debate with.

Not all of them are Nazis. I think some of them who think they are Nazis really aren't either.

If a white man objects to judaism or christianity or gays or blacks I have no problem with it. It's his right to voice his opinion. Like I said the thing that pisses me off is the dishonesty.

I have posted on the Phora. I avoid it because I end up losing all sense of reality. They are real nuts.

Spabby....so one of the reasons you spend time at sites like that is because it's interesting to you, from a psychological point of view, it sounds like.

Yeah, I agree with you that many times it's either low self-esteem or just trying to 'find oneself' that leads teenagers to adopt things like fascism, communism, etc. I used to post on the rage against the machine board... so in a way, I can kinda relate to what you said. When I first went there I didn't know what to expect...all I knew was that my political views were almost completely opposite of most of the people there. But then after posting there for a while, instead of hating the people there, I saw (like you did) things in them that made me want to stick around, and try to give them a different point of view... and strangely enough, I actually ended up getting along with a lot of them, even though we had such different ideas.

Anyway, I think what you said about wanting to take the time to help someone who you saw had vulnerability is what makes you rock. :) Not everyone has the patience or the right heart to do something like that.

So you do have some reasons to be there... What I don't get are people who are supposedly non-racists who go there and are chummy, but don't even disagree with them. Or maybe I just didn't stick around long enough to see that happen. I dunno.

The thing that ticks me off about the WNs is their dishonesty.

jojo, can you be more specific? Are you talking about the WN's who come here but pretend to not be haters? Methinks they feel they have to tone things down around here, to avoid getting banned.

Exactly. If you hate just admit you hate. If you're a racist just be up front about it. Discussion can take place without getting personal and losing control (Take it from someone who has lost control before - hehe).

Don't lie and say you're not a Nazi or WN when clearly you are.

That's all. :|

Like anyone, there are people I have trouble dealing with. For me it depends a lot on my own history. I'm sure I've taken some positions from time to time that absolutely astound you, but all I can say is that at core it boils down to how I divide my world and I am very consistent in my own way.

I know what you're talking about. I would say I'm less curious but there is that place where you wonder if they get that it's not about "different ideas" or "free speech" but a truly negating and abusive personal perspective and that's it not healthy or useful and in all likelihood those frames of mind are not only NOT good for innocent victims, but also not helpful to the person who sees things that way. None of it is condusive to happiness.

I'll tell you cindy, I used to be in a place where I have ZERO tolerance for abusers top to bottom. A friend of mine told me, ok, you have this child abuser... we don't give them death penalty or life, so what do we do with them? Do we treat them for whatever gains they can make, which admittedly are difficult? Or do we just say... "oooh, I can't deal with that, so I am just going to wash my hands of it and let them continue to be that ill and run around abusing other children."?

I still can't sympathize at all with child abusers however I do see the practicality in having someone who can approach them in a level-headed way and do they best they can to heal them.

I will say however, that I doubt I would ever have the capacity to do that kind of work. I certainly don't now. I'm just not that good of a person.

You know I am extremely sporadic with the Israel threads and even when in them up to now the blatant anti-semites caught my attention, the self-professed nazis.

But I took a long look at what the pro-Palestinian lefts were saying.

Now up until now I have considered that simply a different perspective, or a different viewpoint. But the more I thought about it, the more I realize that with some few exceptions, perhaps those not bright enough to grasp the situation in it's entirety, anyone pro-Palestinian is in fact anti-semitic.

The pros complain that we give too much money to Israel. We give about the same amount to Egypt, we give money to Jordan, all kinds of Arab countries, so to be angry at only Israel, one has to overlook all of that. Why?

Spying. Big ****, we spy more than anyone, but that's national defense, and we're the strong huge country. Why does Israel get beaten up over this? Civilian deaths? What have we been doing in Iraq and with less justification? Palestinians targe ONLY civilians - why don't they worry about Israeli civilians?

They say Israel isn't our ally. Well, one thing I know is that our government is about NOTHING but being out for number one. Whatever we get from the Israelis as our allies it is clearly worthwhile as no one Republican or Democrat as President has ever seen it any different. Perhaps it's the toehold in the ME, perhaps it's shared intelligence, or both and more... but whatever it is I'm sure we're getting our value.

So then they say they don't like Israel because it's a state based on a religion, yet those same people are sucking up to Islamic fundamentalist countries. Mistreating palestinians? Palestinians who live in Israel have much better lives than many Arabs in many Arab countries. Why do they call Israel on civil rights abuses but not the abuses to citizens in fascist Islamic fundamentalist countries?

Perhaps it's the character of the Palestinians. Well, I see people who sell their children as human bombs for money, who teach hate from an early age to their children, who bum around in tent cities happy to let their children live in squalor for decades. Is someone making them stay there? Oh! I forgot! Their Arab 'brothers' won't let them in. If it were me, I'd do something else anyway, I'd care more about my children than to offer them such a sordid life. Some character.

And all this loyalty the pro-Palestinians have is to people who wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire.

Now why would they take this position? The only real answer is that they hate Jews.

One poster said, well I have Jewish friends but they are pro-Israel. Well if these boards are any indication of the level of anti-semitism in this and other countries, Israel needs all the help it can get because people have to have somewhere to go on the off chance the fascists do gain political power.

We are talking about people who want their freedom of speech, and right to try to politically empower themselves, people who overtly sympathize with white supremacists doing just that for themselves, but if the Jews try to protect themselves or their interests then it's a giant conspiracy. And of course there is that evil "mind control" Jews practice on all the people who apparently have no capacity to control their own thoughts and make up their own mind.

I'll tell you Buttercup, I like my nazis/anti-semites up front. They hate Jews 'just cuz' but at least they aren't cowards. They say it upfront and they take the flak for having that opinion. It's the cowardly hypocrites hiding under one-sided "concern" for the poor poor terrorist Palestinians who really disgust me because they aren't honest. It's nothing but Jew-hating under a mask.

Spab, I agree with most of what you said, but I do want to clear something up, in case there was any confusion.

I don't think every person who seems to be supportive of the palestinians is anti-semitic. I can think of one person in particular, Joey... He says he doesn't have a side, but he does support a palestinian state, and I don't think he is anti-semitic. And poty I don't think is either, although, like you said...who knows? :jk:

But definitely there are a lot of anti-semites, especially on this site, and like you said, it's the "The enemy of your enemy is your friend." mentality. Well, not so much friend but... they're willing to side with them because they have a common enemy.

A friend of mine said something kinda interesting one time, when we were talking about why some people hate Jews/Israel. She said because in many cases (whether they realize it or not) they're against God... and of course God chose the Jews to be His covenant people. Her theory might sound silly, but it's true that many nonbelievers, especially atheist leftists tend to side with the palestinians. And Spab, I know you differ with me on clinton, but I think he and his wife were more on the palestinian side. And on at least one occasion, Hillary was caught saying something blatantly anti-semitic, remember that? Her theory might sound silly, but it's true that many nonbelievers, especially atheist leftists tend to side with the palestinians.

One reason the battle has raged on is the infusion of religion into the paradigm.

Territories in Isreal are the 'sacred space' and religion is a persons 'ulimate concern'

Its a shame really that people don't have that realization that Black Elk did...." the sacred mountain is everywhere

As for your rant on atheist leftists:
many legitamately have humanistic concerns for the palestinians. And being against a brutal occupation is not 'being against god'
"Jews as the special and chosen people of god" is a wholly culturally founded religious idea. Entering this political situation with that paradigm = trouble. More harm than help

maybe you've heard the expression, god's center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere.

Where's the holy land? Black Elk's sacred mountain? Jerusalem? Tenotchitlan? Mecca? Ayodyah?

jojo, your wife is very lucky indeed, and I suspect you are as well. There is nothing as wonderful as a man with a genuine love for women as a gender, as imperfect as we all are. I think a lot of women get so caught up in "individual rightz" and "principles" that they forget about the glorious differences between men and women and what kind of man will truly make them happy.

It may not be politically correct, but I'm very honest with myself about what makes me glow~

I think men are terribly misunderstood. I appreciate imperfect beauty. It is the best it gets. No angels please. Women are real flesh and blood. :|

I do not oppose the notion regarding individualism. It is a very important point to consider in my opinion. I will occasionally jest on the subject of polygamy, but I will say that a womans individualism is a subject of great importance.

Men have killed one another over the honor of a woman. Polygamy, in my opinion, dishonors both individuals male and female. There is great beauty in Gods design. An honorable woman is a force in this life that too often goes underestimated.

I also agree with you regarding the differences. Elegance and beauty are things we need more of. These are things best delivered by genuine unpretending females in my opinion.

It may not be politically correct, but I'm very honest with myself about what makes me glow~ :)
