Flys eat crap. Spiders eat flies, (as do we all, unintentionally, from time to time). Birds eat spiders. We eat birds. We crap. The flys eat it. And so the great circle of life goes on.

They're scavengers. They serve to aid decomposition of dead things. Without flies, worms, bacteria, etc, there'd be a huge moud of dead things we'd have all over the place.
All living things, with the excpetions of "producers" (living things that depend on energy from external sources, plants, algae, etc) eat each other in some way. It's just how big a bite we take and from who that is different.
Flies take a bite from pretty much everything.
We're a bit pickier. That's why flies are better.:|

Flies annoy me if they land on me, and if they land on my food or in a beverage that I'm attempting to enjoy, that can be really annoying, because then I'm left with the decision of either having to throw away the food and or beverage, which seems wasteful, or else continue consuming it, which seems risky. It's a problem.
In an almost certainly wholly unrelated subject, I noticed that you invited questions, and so, being a Loyalist/Unionist where Ulster (or as some people call it Northern Ireland) is concerned, I'm interested to know how you think things will play out there. Will there be much significant decommissioning of weapons? Is it only a matter of time before Ulster finds itself beneath the Irish tri-color? And if that happens, what, really, will happen to the Loyalists?
I'll type "Thank you." in advance for your answers.:)
