Well, I have it setup, and have been messing with it. It has its good and bad. I changed the appearance as fast as I could, it was too colorful. I changed some looks to classic, and left others to the new look. This is a freaking computer, not a kiddie cartoon.

It runs pretty fast and boots up quick. But for some reason Internet explorer is laggy. Im using opera instead.

It is able to handle black+white, one game I have been waiting to play. I think more game will work on this OS much better.

Some things are re-arranged...which pisses me off as tech support more than a user. When someone calls with XP, its like a whole other animal. o well.

So, I like Xp so far. I would not pay for it, but if your friend offers you a free copy, like mine did, go for it.

I left mine on the new XP look, but went to the "silver" color scheme.. much better and less cartoonish

I haven't been able to use that PC since. It's stuck in the install mode, but one of the install program items is not working... I am now playing no one lives forever, a good game. It was also not working in 2000. And even though My system can handle much more ram and cpu power, its still kicking butt.

I think my mb maxes out at 3 gigs of ram...maybe 2. And it can handle over 2 ghz cpu. I only have 128 ddr, and 950mhz cpu...and it barely ever lags. Me so happy. :)
