First of all, I had a Kernal error concerning my AIM, that quit..but yet I was still having trouble with my inet acting funny. Today I attempt to do scandisk then Defrag, and I get a message telling me to close everything out, while it scans. Everything was closed out. Absolutely nothing was running. I left it on scan and went to work, when I came home 7 hours later, it was still scanning and checking allocated folders. I shut it down, to attempt to ask you guys what may I be able to do.

Also, now everytime I turn it on I get the message saying IMPROPER SHUTDOWN, when I know it has been shut down correctly.

ANY IDEAS? If not I am bringing it in, to be looked at.

I am using Windows ME, and Yes I know that says it all, but I still need to get this fixed.

When it comes to scanning, make sure there are also no anti-virus or screen savers running.

As for fixing it...ME is bad. And the only fix I can think of right now is a reinstall.

When you ran the Scandisk set to Thorough, did it report any errors that it had to fix? Bad parts on the drive?
