View Full Version : NEED More Help! Help! ÆSiR 09-17-2002, 05:48 PM Just got my new computer... however I can't get the CD Drive to work. I put a cd in... nothing... Hell I can't even find it in explorer ... D or E Drive. Hrmmm... Any suggestions.. -Æ (Flys out to California to kick www.myjackrabbit.com ass!) If I put a music cd and push the play button (below the slot where ya put the cd in) then i plays the cd. But If I go to media player and try to find it... its not there. I DON'T UNDERSTAND Swappy 09-17-2002, 06:00 PM Boot from a Windows boot disk (w/cdrom support) and see if the cdrom drive works that way. Also check the bios to see if it is detected. And check the cables on the back of it. ChaoticThoughts 09-18-2002, 02:23 AM sounds like a loose or bad cable. There are two that attach to the cd player- an ide cable, and a sound cable. The sound may be fine, but not the other. open the case, and push down on the large flat cable, making sure it is all the way in...
