That was damn late, around 2am, I think. Actually, he only got like two hours of partying in before we all lost coherence and fell in unison to the floor. Then four hours later, *I* had to get back up and get home to wash the smell of alcohol and various smokable plants off meself to meet my family for Super(super, super)cross(cross, cross)!

You know< I can never figure out how to make my pics postable. Like make them jpg or gif or whatever. I scan 'em and can never post 'em.. Sent Manu one, but it's bloody frustrating.. Cn someone here, maybe one of you computer dweebs (love you guys!!) tell me how to change them??

As long as they're in JPG or GIF format already, all you have to do is upload them somewhere else, and then link to the image file at the other site to display it here. Use the 'IMG' button on the posting screen and then put in the exact file location via cut & paste in the pop up window that will appear.

You can find out THAT by left clicking on the picture after it's uploaded elsewhere, then clicking on 'Properties'. Just cut & paste the address there into that pop-up box.:)

I think her problem is file conversion. Her scanner, like most of the archaic beasts of yesteryear, no-doubt scans in TIFF format, which is big and cumbersome, but supports great resolution. She needs a program to convert them to the compressed JPG format. ACDSee (http://www.acdsystems.com/English/index.htm) is my brand of choice. Give it a shot, Mo6!

This is exactly my problem......but we have a cheap scanner, not old. Same prob I suppose. I do have a digcamera that came with software. I was thinking I might be able to convert the photo with that. I'll read up and figure it out......or you could tell me how!! I'll see what happens. Thanks by the way. :D

You'll lose a lot of resolution by taking pictures of pictures, Mo6. Best to just snap off a few of your family, offload them from the camera, put them up on some webspace somewhere, and link to them with the bracket-img-bracket-address-bracket-/img-bracket format. Good luck!

The x's mean that the pictures no longer exist where people are pointing to them. To be fair, it's been a long time since a lot of these were posted, and maybe some folks had to clear the pictures of their servers to save space or whathaveyou. I know everything I posted was brutally murdered when Excite.com went to hell and AT&T Broadband lost their hosting. My entire personal web page got swallowed up in that. ACDSee is a great program is you need something to help you view pictures, but it won't raise the dead, alas and alack.
