Last night I decided I had a itch to get a belly button ring. I made enough cash last night in tips to do the deed. I just need your opinion. Pierce or No Pierce?

im usually all for piercing and such and i think its cute on some girls but its really nasty if it gets infected and leaves a scar if and when you take it out.so if ya do get it pierced go somewhere really professional and clean cause venice just doesnt cut it.

Do not get them on your breast either, if children are in your plans..

Woman should stick to the places that do not stretch so much. Back, ankle, etc.

For the piercing I am still trying to decide now the only thing holding me back is the scar..does it bother me or will it bother me that much. I saw my friends scar and it was not to too bad. Not sure though just yet. Is there anyway to prevent bad scarring from occurring?

ooo maaan, i could say something here but I wont because i'll be scowled at by a princess and i dont like that, aww

anyhu, i think i'll go for a small dark symbol tattoo once me and lyd settle down for real. Piercings are cool but they're not everlasting and leave scars. they just get rejected by the body after a while

Hmm. I hate to say this but I WILL NEVER put anyones (as for as a love) name on me..Sorry see it to much..Joe married now to Joan with Beths name on his body..I could not handle that looking at my husband with a past love wrote on him as a constant reminder...Sorry tam! I know you love lyd and feel free to put it all over your bod http://discussanything.com/Ubb/wink.gif I will stick with the piercing..

heather-hun, i wasn't talking about an across-the-chest piercing of her name, with snakes and dragons and all that stuff, I was just talking a small symbol. Seeing how she's half japanese/hawaiian, it could just as well just be an asian character or so. It shouldn't matter...

Well...getting my navel pierced hurt more than getting my nipples done (at a larger gauge, too), but that's because my piercer was inept for the navel, and I went to a great piercer for my nipples. Piercings may leave some scars, but they can be pretty easily healed (talk to your piercer about this, or go to www.bme.freeq.com (http://www.bme.freeq.com) - they've got just about everything you need to know about any form of body modification), and if you take good care of them, scarring shouldn't be a big issue. Obviously, the bigger the piercing, the bigger the scar (except some piercings can be done too small and end up stretching or tearing, which leaves worse scars). If you're getting your belly button done, try 14 gauge.

Oh, and as far as tattoos go, I don't have any, though I do have scarification of a black widow (about 4"x4" on my thigh). No, it's not gross, yes it did hurt (a lot), yes it will fade and most likely eventually disappear. I think my cousins and I are getting little matching tattoos this summer...little stars on our hips or something. We'll see.

Oh yeah, now I remember...Vitamin E is what you're supposed to rub on scar tissue to make it go away. It'll get rid of scars and stretch marks.

My only problem is, now that I've stashed away enough money to get my belly button pierced, I don't know anywhere locally that does it. All the places I look at just do ear piercings, and it's staring to be a pain just to find a place.

There are *tons* of places you can go. Lots of tattoo parlors will do piercings, too, but I'd suggest checking the place out before you let them stick needles in you. (Piercing is a lot different than tattooing, so someone who does wonderful tattoos may suck as a piercer, and vice versa.) Trying not to get redundant...check out www.bme.freeq.com (http://www.bme.freeq.com) - if you go under 'experiences', you can sort by location, and then search for things close to you. There are piercing places everywhere, you just have to look a bit.

I have had my belly pierce twice...and never even felt the needle..

Not feeling the needle will , depend on the piercer...and his skill..

I never felt the needle either. It feels like someine is pinching your elbow, try it, it doesn't hurt. The only thing I didn't like was when I went to go get the ring changed 2 weeks later....it just felt gross cause there was still broken skin on the inside.

I'd say do it, but maybe something that has more ...uh, uses other than something asthetic. The place we went to was different from all other places we've been to, and while it didn't look like a hospital, it made us feel very comfortable, and we had a few friends with us, so we were more relaxed like that. Most piercings don't really hurt, its just the nagging pain that goes on for a few days after. In addition to my ears, I also have my nips, and the lady and I are very heavily considering our lower extremities, she's gonna do the hood, and, well, just guess mine. I like tattoos, but I just can't decide on one, and one that will still be meaningful to me when I age. I thought of a large, very colorful dragon tattoo, something like samurai warriors used to have, with lots of oranges or blues, but that'd take many hours and mucho dinero.

i've got the "anarchy, peace and freedom" symbols tattooed across my back, takes up about 1/6th m back area. i forget it's there most times, every once in a while i'll pass inf ront of a mirror w/ out my shirt on and go "woah, i've got a tattoo."
i'm pretty happy with my nipple piercings, they're cool. i wouldn't pierce my navel, but i'm not a girl so that's a pretty big difference. chicks i've seen are 50/50 on my nipple piercings, some HATE them and some dig them.
that's about it.

Some guys can pull of the nipple piercing thing, some can't...I love mine, though, and it barely hurt at all...I'd do it again in a second.

Ive had my periced for about 2 years and i love it....i think the only thing thats really gonna keep it from scaring is if you really keep alcohol on it....if it gets infected it will scar....mine did nic was tickling me and it pulled the whole ball though THAT HURTS! just let it heal and it'll be fine....best way to make it heal is to go to the beach! Sun and Salty water do miracals!

the funniest thing was, after i played this one show these 14 year old girls came up to me asking me if the piercings hurt, and i said "no" and i tugged on one a bit, they all giggled and yelled "gross!" before the more adventurous one asked to touch them.
so hilarious.

Um, actually...alcohol is *terrible* for piercings. Your piercer should've told you that - it keeps them from ever healing and growing healthy new skin. And the beach is just as bad...the water there is not at all sanitary, and can actually cause infection...in fact, you're not allowed to get in any standing bodies of water at all for at least 4-6 months after getting most piercings. You should be using some kind of antibacterial soap (like Satin Soap) and soaking the piercing in a mix of warm water and sea salt (which you can get at a health food store).

*DO NOT EVER* put alcohol on it, or hydrogen peroxide - it's so incredibly bad for piercings.

sea salt? why not get a bottle of saline solution? I've been putting saline solution on first to loosen up the crust/gunk and then use Dial Anti-Bacterial, and then finish up with a quick dab of saline solution again.

Saline solution works, but I was told that sea salt is better. Like Perrier for your piercings, instead of tap water. I hear Dial's a bit harsh for piercings usually, but maybe I'm wrong....I have super-sensitive skin, so I figure, if I couldn't wash my face with Dial without it hurting, why would I put it on these puncture wounds I have? Same goes for the sea salt...better safe than sorry, I figure, especially with my super-sensitive skin.

I'm not posting pictures of my nipple rings, before people start asking. You wanna see them, download the damn movie.
