PARACHUTE PANTS MAKING A COMEBACK
DETROIT (Wireless Flash) -- Lock up your children: Parachute pants are making a comeback.
The zippered nylon trousers were only popular for a short period in the mid-80s, but are becoming hip again thanks to a Detroit man who purchased the last known lot of authentic parachute pants.

Scott Taylor claims he's the only person in the world still selling the original Bugle Boy brand pants -- and he has only 5800 pairs left.

The tight trousers sell for anywhere from $32 to $86 and come in classic 1980s colors like turquoise and tan.

Taylor says the popularity of today's cargo pants has helped his business along because the style is similar. Still, he admits most of his customers are what he calls "cultish '80s people."

Mine are olive green...but then, they're not the 'authentic' ones. They make you really slippery, though - I have to remember not to sit too close to the edge of chairs, or I'll slide off.

Do not be alarmed! Just because the parachute pants are returning, does not mean MC hammer is going to return. He has been cast into hell for the damage he has done to music, he will not return...however, vanilla ice...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bugle Boy make the crappy imitation parachute pants?

I never really noticed that trend, I was knee deep into punk rock with skin tight black jeans back then. I kinda just thought of those pants as redneck I guess.
