I drove home drunk once in 1988 after a big party along a dirt road at like 0300. It was like 5 miles. At that time the limit was like .15. At that time it was about impairment, not BAC. The game has changed and it's now about BAC. Unfortunately, if you're really large or really small the machine measures you against an average that was based on data from a normal sized person so you could have a high BAC but still not really be impaired to the point you'd deserve a ticket and vice verse. You could have a life long alcoholic run around for years unimpaired and he'd still get a conviction while not posing any significant risk to the public. But DUI wasn't profitable back then, but it sure as hell is profitable now.

You, on the other hand, don't have this luxury. That THC that you inhale through that hole in your head you call a mouth, well, in a growing number of states any amount of THC they pull from your druggy ass with a needle will result in a conviction, and even Cowfag himself won't save you from your plight, well maybe mommy and daddy can if they throw enough money around or the cops F up. Christ, I can't believe I'm agreeing with you but that's exactly right. I've learned a lot over the years from police encounters which is why I'm a big fan of civil rights. 99% from traffic stops. However, they, the cops, make mistakes. Besides the rules CR listed above don't ever, and I mean EVER consent to a search. They have ways of tricking you into a serach: "sir can I check and make sure your car is secure?". Fail. And then there is the body language, the things you do that the cops are trained to recognize. A good cop, if you pass him, will be looking for you to scratch your head, take a drink from your cup or any kind of nervous tick. If you consent to a search, you put yourself in peril. What if that used car you bought has drug residue under the seat? A pound of mary jane from ganga's supplier that someone forgot about?

No doubt, and they'll do the same if you are found guilty of "contempt of cop". I should put together a don't do list. I learned the hard way as a younger man with all that adrenaline fueled speed addiction.

1. Shut up, and don't be an ass.
2. Keep your hands in clear view.
3. Don't lie, just shut up if you feel the urge to lie.
4. Eyes straight ahead
5. Conversation to a minimum, see 3.
6. Make sure your "papers" are in order. Your papers are largely a stage show so the cop can get a good look in your car and watch your hands tremble as you fumble about looking for them. These involuntary reactions, while normal most of the time, can be used to gain search of your vehicle. If you have them in order then your level of nervousness is reduced as well as the time the cop get's to watch you tremble in terror.
7. If a cop is on your ass he's probably trying to use blue light fright technique to intimidate you into making a mistake. If you have nothing to hide, just pull over and let him pass. If your on something then you'll be spending so much time worrying about the pig on your ass that you'll hit the white or center stripe and give him constitutional justification to pull your ass over and use some damn good intuition to decide his next step.
8. Window rolled down at a minimum to pass papers and answer yes or no.
9. Once again, never, ever, consent to a search. Be very clear "I do not consent to a search".
10. If you get out of the car lock your doors and put the keys in your pocket. This will probably set the cop off, but at least you'll be in your rights.
11. Anything that goes against their training. Let's say you get pulled over for a speeding offense, and the cop wants to search your car. You could be a smart guy and say to the pig "Do you think you'll find more evidence of my speeding violation inside the car?" Cops don't like smart guys. It goes against their training. They're accustomed to obedience. Fail that, and you might get dead.
12. The younger the cop, the less experienced the cop. A cop with less experience has something to prove, plus he grew up in police state and has probably already bayoneted people in Iraq so his view of the world is skewed and he's already a mentally deranged prick. Don't ever fuck around with a rookie cop or you may end up like Rodney King, except dead with no payout.
13. Don't do anything illegal*. In this day pretty much everything is illegal, but if you have nothing to hide then most of the time* you'll be fine or if you get the wrong cop you'll end up dead and he'll have some vacation taken away after his paid vacation.
14. Refusal to test. In most states a refusal will get you a longer administrative suspension, regardless of your guilt. If you're drunk, then you're time is limited. Depending on the circumstances and your financial situation you might be better off wasting the cops time and lowering your BAC by getting a trip to the hospital to have your blood drawn. The time it takes deputy Joe Bob to get to the hospital might be the difference between thousands of dollars and freedom. Downside is that it is dead on accurate, but from what I've read you'll get better legal maneuvers at trial then that damn machine which isn't error proof as much as they'd like it to be. If this is Floriduh none of this applies because the pigs will taze you, put a boot on your head, and stick that needle in your arm after a judge beside the road signs a warrant to take it.
