Honestly, what the hell is wrong with these people? A 2 year old girl is run over twice and 18 people walk by her body and do nothing. There is something seriously wrong with a society that has so little respect for human life. You wouldn't even treat a stray dog like that. In a country known for human rights violations, you start to realize why it can happen. They have completely lost their humanity. The video made me sick to my stomach...I couldn't even watch the whole thing.


Horrifying footage of a 2-year-old girl in China being run over by two separate vehicles and left to die by passersby has stirred outrage throughout the country, with CNN reporting that security footage of the incident has led the nation of 1.3 billion people to do some collective soul-searching.

According to Shanghaiist, the two-year-old, who has been identified as Yueyue, was run over on Thursday outside of a hardware market in Foshan in southern China's Guangdong province.

Security camera footage shows a driver in a white van hit the young girl, apparently crushing her under the weight of the front wheel. The driver pauses briefly, but then continues to drive forward, running over her with the back wheel.

The following video shows more than a dozen passersby walk, ride motorbikes or drive past the young, bleeding girl without stopping to help. They clearly notice the badly injured child, as some motorists swerve to avoid her body. After three people walk past, a different truck runs over the young girl again

Not only did the guy run the child over but it looks like he had plenty of time to stop and decided to hit her anyway. It's a two year old baby! At least call the Chinese version of 911 and stand by the child until they arrive. The second truck just ran over her like she was trash in the street! It's scary how devoid of compassion people can be. I hope they jail some of those assholes.

While it's supposedly illegal, there are still abortions performed strictly for sex selection purposes. There are countries now where the ratio of girls to boys is becoming dangerously skewed.
In India (if I remember correctly) the difference in the hospital when girls are born vs. boys is shocking.
When a boy is born there is celebration, and the whole family comes to visit to welcome the new son. When a girl is born sometimes not even the husband comes to visit. I learned this from a documentary I watched some time ago. I was shocked at how many families chose to abort their girls, or worse yet, kill them as newborns.
It's sad that there is still such gender bias in this world.

In 2006 a Chinese man helped an elderly woman get to a hospital. When the woman was able, she identified him as the one who pushed her down. Despite saying he did not hurt the woman but only helped her, the Chinese Judge ruled that "common sense" dictates that only a guilty person would try to help his victim, and the man had to pay the woman's extensive medical bills. Perhaps that is part of why these 18 seemed so callous.

What nether regions did the judge pull that human reasoning out?

Exactly. And they are part of the problem. You can blame a govt. for their mistreatment of people etc. but these very people are part of the problem because they do nothing. Same thing for Islam. If a child is that badly hurt, you do something. You know, I've even seen animals with more decency. A couple of years ago, I saw this duck trying to drag her mate out of the road. A total of 18 people walked, drove, or rode past the injured baby. It was a destitute woman collecting recyclable trash that stopped to help her.

Good Samaritan laws protect you in this country. You.re more likely to be held civilly and criminally liable if you just pass him by. I agree with you though; fuck him. I'd just say I thought he was drunk if asked. Good Samaritan laws don't protect you from hep C and tuberculosis.
