Guitarophile 08-24-2001, 01:29 AM For years, I've been writing songs under the name Orion, and I've been trying to put a band together under the name The Orion Project. Most of the things I've written range from melodic rock to alternative/progressive. The band I'm in now, Engines of Creation, plays alt/prog, and that's fine with me.

(Two band names I wish I had thought of:
Mary Tyler Morphine, and Drowning, Not Waving)
claire 09-18-2001, 08:06 AM Speed Queen- though this may be also the name of a joint partnership (in what i don't know, like just with a friend if we do anything enterprising together this is what we'll call it. i have no musical ability though. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/smile.gif )

Drowning, Not Waving
Not Waving but Drowning was the title of a poem we read back in high school (a great poem, too)...I'd assume that's where the name came from.

Rayney 09-27-2001, 01:19 AM *IF* I had any musical talent (with the exception of the Triangle.....) it would probably fall into the category of Alternative. I figure that since my poetry is VERY depressing, that my songs would be too, plus I hate commercial radio stations. That said...Id still take their $$$$. Heh.
Band Name: Sweet Release (I picked that up somewhere along the way....is it another band name that I am subconciously stealing????).

suncrush3r 09-27-2001, 07:38 AM i got together with some people who were going to name a band here is a small list of the names we came up with:
Devil's Spatula
Satan's Yo-yo
Clashing Boom-Boom's (any WW would know that)
Red Bricks
Unfortunally the band never took off. So we never decided on a name.

little_darkling 09-27-2001, 12:21 PM dude, if i had my own band i'd play stupid punk rock shit. i've always wanted to do that. i'd want to be the singer (i'd be like Kirsten Patches) or the drummer (like Pat Thetic, oh yea), mostly the drummer. ohhh yea *air drums*
i'd call my stupid punk band one of the following:
The Fridge Bullies (don't ask)
The Dark Rxns (pronounced reactions)
Shithead and the Piss Ants
The Bloodwhores (ohhhh yea)
The _______ Bombs (i dunno what to put in the blank yet)
or else i'd like to have, i dunno, maybe some industrial type band called A Thousand Evils. i think that sounds so badass! but i really wanna play drums, ohhh yea *air drums again*

for example:
Band- Ear probe
cd- Still warm from the anal
Scott 10-31-2001, 02:41 AM Trouser Snakes
Ear Wax
Bloody Booger
Flatulence

Stevie Smith - Not Waving But Drowning
Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.
Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he's dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.
Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning.
(In Case you were wondering)
