View Full Version : 'In the Dog House'
Foul Temptress 09-09-2002, 10:36 AM Alright, you always hear about Guys being put in the Dog house, can this be altered? How many chiks have been/ or have you put in the dog house?
If you feel up to it, tell a story about why you were 'Condemned to the Dog House'!
RightWingZealot 09-09-2002, 10:39 AM i made my wife sleep on the couch once.
that was cool
The Frog 09-09-2002, 10:39 AM WE don't have a dog (ergo no dog house) but I've never been in the proverbial one either.
Our rule we decided between us when we first married would be that the one who was angry would be the one sleeping on the couch since they are the one with the problem or is unable to let it go, not the other way around. It has never come up, however.
We kick the cats out of the room occasionally, that's about it.
Baboon 09-09-2002, 11:26 AM I've been in the dog house before, but not since I met my wife. One of my ex-girlfriends I lived with put me there for weeks once. I was in college at the time and and NO money. She was a working girl with a degree. My friends wanted to take a four day trip to Montreal, and I wanted to go. The ex was adamant about me NOT going, saying I had no money, and any money I did have should go towards bills. So I sold a bunch of my baseball cards to fund the trip (yes, I went). She was RIPPING that I went, even though she "told me" not to go. Hey, I was a young college student and wanted to enjoy it. She could have booted me out of the apartment if she didn't like it.
She's not an "ex-girlfriend" for nothing. :D
BTW, I am glad I went. So many great memories of that trip. :)

Same thing, here. Mari and I have decided that it is both of our bed, therefore we both have a right to be there. The person who's the angriest should feel free to leave if it bothers him/her that much.
We have used it in the past, and it works. The angry person usually wants to come back in half an hour and resolve the arguement.
danman7733 10-07-2002, 02:52 AM hell I stay in the dog house
Monster 10-07-2002, 03:56 AM 'Bout the closest I've done to the Dog House bit is going to sleep on the couch because I was not sleeping and my female companion (not enough emotion with this particular girl to warrant 'girlfriend') was fast asleep and I didn't want to wake her. Damn insomnia.
But no, no actual dog house dismissal yet...
...but I AM only 18.

I'm a woman and yes I have been in the "doghouse" so-to-speak
One night my (now ex) boyfriend and I got into an argument about me wanting to go out the next night with a bunch of my girlfriends for a "girls night out" and he wanted me to be with him. And he said "well if you don't want to be with me tomorrow night then don't be with me right now either" and he told me to get out of his apartment. He locked the door behind me and since he had picked me up that night I didn't have my car so I had to walk home! I was in the doghouse for about a week after that one, for the first 4 days he wouldn't even talk to me!
Needless to say pretty soon I wised up and realized I didn't need his "I should be your whole world" attitude and that was the end of THAT relationship. I couldn't scream "Free at last!" loud enough, lol. :D

Actually, what it really is is that our couch is very uncomfortable so it gives us that added incentive to come back to bed and resolve the argument! (j/k):D :p
AdamJ 10-08-2002, 10:10 PM Ive put her in the Dog house only once. It was a pretty good sized argument and I locked her ass out of the bedroom, hehe. At about 12:30 at night I could hear a soft knock on the door and someone almost crying to come back in, I let her in but I felt real bad afterwards.
Ive never been in the doghouse, so to say.
Griff 10-09-2002, 11:56 AM I'd be afraid for the poor mutt...
Katalina 10-28-2002, 08:38 AM I have tired to sleep on the couch when we get mad at each other, he won't let me. He tells me that I'm his wife and my place is in bed with him. I think he just does this so I'll have to talk to him about what's bothering me.
Drives me nuts too, that out of anybody in the world, he can tell if there's something wrong with me. Can't hide nothing from this guy!:)
Reverend 11-04-2002, 06:07 PM I need to KEEP a girlfriend for longer than two minutes in order to be "in the doghouse." I need some wisdom on keeping a girlfriend then I will write about being in the doghouse!
Shelter 11-04-2002, 06:44 PM I live in the dog house with my soon to be ex that i have started trying to lick myself occasionally..LOL I havent been out of trouble in 2 years so I can sypathize with anyone here who is in the poop alot.
Well, we don't live together, so I haven't been in the doghouse physically speaking.
But more broadly, whenever we fight, if I get too mad or angry I ALWAYS feel bad afterwards cause jody takes things to heart really easily.
So I have tried to not get mad, stay rational and talk about stuff. She tries the same. It has worked out great so far.
