Hi my name is Cindy. And I'm an internet addict.

ok, that was stupid... but the point is - I spend way too much time online. So I'm going to start posting a lot less. That's my resolution. In the last few months, I've spent a lot of time on DA (I no longer post regularly on any other forum) - but now I really can't afford to spend as much time here. I'm taking 4 classes right now... and now that I have my set school schedule, I'm going to (finally) get back to work, too... about 30 hours a week.

I really want to do well in my classes, and that's not going to happen if I spend ridiculous amounts of time online, as I have been.

So anyway, I'll try to keep my posting to just once a week (maybe Sunday). Not that most of you give a rat's @**. :D

I have to be honest though... we'll see how long this lasts. My hiatus might not last too long.... (we've seen a lot of people around here try to leave and we know what happens) :p

Peace!

cindy

Good luck, I am considerring something similar...mainly due to my complete annihilation of one 320W ATX power supply this afternoon, resulting in the possible death of my CD writer...

Damn computers, damn'em to hell...

Woops, I hope that didn't happen to you! Anyway, thanks... and speaking of internet addiction, I should be signing off soon. Its 3 am here.

I just realized... if I wasn't single, I wouldn't be wasting so much time online like this. I should find a man, quick! :D j/k

Good luck with your resolution.

It's hard at first, but gets easier as a few days go by to stay away from a particular board or even the internet completely.

How much time do you spend online per day? I'm up to about 14, including time at work etc. But yeah, i can see how it doesn't help you much. I'm sure that if you'd stay out of In the news / politics, you'd have a lot more time left though :)

Thanks MissRaven! :D You're right - it is easier once you miss a few days.

14 hours a day??? Wow! I don't know how much time I spend online. It varies. A lot of times I get offline, and it says I was on for 5 hours (for one session!) :D

And yeah, the politics forums can be time consuming. (but those are the ones i like!) ;)

hah, i'd like to see him put that in his signature :D just kiddin...
but back to the actual topic of this thread--- if you are living in front of your moniter then I'd say go ahead and cut down, but you may not want to limit yourself to posting on a certain day, or a certain amount of posts-- what if a juicy topic comes up that you wanna check daily or somethin? (besides, you know you're just like the rest of us DA addicts and that you wont stay away for long!) Maybe if you designated a certain amount of time that you could be on here per week,,, or daily or however... without feelin like you need a twelve step program for your internet addiction :D either way, good luck

I was thinking the same thing about his sig. Anyway, you may be right about the posting.... but knowing myself, its hard to come here and just post for a short time. So that's why I was going to just limit it to one day a week or something.

*sigh* :o This sounds so pathetic!

lol

Smoochie is in Holland with Tam right now.

After that he'll head back to SoCal and meet up with Manu before heading out to see you.
