It doesn't snow where I am so it doesn't get that cold, it can get to minus 5 degrees which is freezing especially when you don't have the heating going.

It's going to be minus 1 tonight.

I dunno if it goes below freezing but you can wake up in the morning and find the pipes are frozen.

Some guy got mauled to death by a shark in Perth. Of course they are out for blood now. Person goes into sharks territory, shark defends itself, lets kill the shark.

I have a better idea. Don't go in the fucking sharks domain!

why not just turn on the furnace at night to prevent the pipes from freezing? Do you have furnaces?
