The XP should be a very interesting chip...

Has strong SSE support, and is still great in other applications.

There is some debate at the mdoel numbers. The 1.513GHz XP will be called the XP1800. Does that mean it compares to a 1.8GHz P4? Some reports say that is what AMD says it would compare to a THUNDERBIRD. Some reports say it will compare to the upcoming Norhtwood .13 micron P4 with 256 More l2 cache.

It is hard to tell right now.

The real test of intel/amd battle will come when the P4 Northwood comes out. Smaller process, more cache. It has been shown time and itme again, on chip cache and FSB make the world fo a difference. I was suprised to see that they didn't make the 333Bus for DDR support...
