I laughed my *** off the day they lost the patent infringment suit. They knowingly went into an industry consortium to discuss standards for present and future memory designs, AFTER applying for a patent (which they failed to diclose at the meeting) on the same technology they are there to openly discuss with the rest of the industry. AFTER their technology (the famed RDRAM memory) flops, they decide to due other memory manufacturers for patent infringment. While Samsung and some others agreed to pay up, Infineon had the balls to fight them, and won.

Well rambus technology has osme potential, but the company is a joke. Their lawsuits, their organization, their realtionship with intel is horrible.

I wish intel didn't get involved with them and supported DDR more whole heartedly. But we're going to be seieng some fast P4 ddr chipsets soon which should be interesting...

Yes, I think so to. Intel screwed themselves by signing that contract with RAMBUST. But, VIA and SiS (SiS 635), to the rescue...

Speaking of SiS, they also have a DDr chipset, SiS 735, on the way for the Athlon that, in Beta, outperforms AMD's 760 DDR, which was the fastest one for the Athlon.

Here's an article...

Wow.

Yeah, I am excited about Via's P4 chipsets...I just hope intel doesn't sue them over the shady lisencing.
