I have been having AIM, MSN on my computer at work for months. I came in 2 days ago and it is now down. 2 of us ion my dept is having the same problem. It is definately not a firewall, I am in with the I/S guys.. It is something in the connection. AIM Express will not even connect.. Any clue??

I tried to Auto configuration and that did not work, it says for me to try through Socks or https.. I am uncertain of what this is. Someone Help Me!! I am having MANU withdrawals..

haha! I know Heather, MANU withdrawls can be rough. I've been known to go through them at times.

And didn't you say that you're not the only one at your organization that doesn't have access?

a couple things to try for giggles:

A) have someone try to sign onto AIM express or whatever from your computer with their screen name...

B) likewise try logging on to their machines... youve now narrowed the problem to your computer

if you cant get onto AIM express though Im willing to bet its a firewall issue... did you accidentally tell them you have a proxy server or the like set up?

She can't get onto AIM express.

I DOBUT itis a firewall issue cause her two friends in the smae building can get to it, but not her other friend. (Unless they are in different dept and have different routing...)

We are actually in different sections of our department. It is possible the routing is different. I have been assured it is not a firewall. Unless Nick and Drew are playing on hell of a sick game.

It is definitely not a firewall. There are other people that can get it in the building that do not have admin rights. We have had this problem before but it effected everyone and not just Heather's office. But last time it went away after a few hours. You were never able to try at home were you? I think something is screwed up with the connection over there.

right... well unless there have been some sort of passthroughs set on the firewall... other than that Ive noticed I cant get onto AIM Express at work because of said firewall...but I can get into AIM... so yeah my guess is the config. of your machine or the routing... I guess swap your machine with someone elses and see if they can get on...thatd kill that issue for routing

OK. I tried aim express on a friends computer in my office and it works.. So, it has to be on my computer or something. Perhaps a line or something..
