The sq on my comp is horrible, and I don't
have a clue why. http://discussanything.com/Ubb/frown.gif When listening to songs
I've dl'ed from napster it sounds like I'm
listening to the radio and I'm a few clicks
off the right frequency. For some strange
reason only one song I've dl'ed doesn't do
this[can't hardly wait,the replacements].
It also does this when watching realplayer
videos.My comp is a compaq presario 2286
366mhz running winblows 98.What would cause
this and how do I fix it? I just ordered a
pac bell cd burner and a JVC MP3 deck for
my car and I don't want my burned discs to
sound like crapola! please help!

what is the bitrate on the songs? For me, if it is under 128 or so it gets bad. If you use winamp, the bitrate should be at the top of it, just under the song name.

If it is just teh sound card that is bad and not the MP3s, then the burned CDs should be fine! But we need some more info to help ya!

I checked to see if there was a difference
with bitrates.Nope, some stuff at 90 sounds
better than some stuff at 190.I have no clue
what I have for a soundcard,but I would think
that's the problem since all audio from my
comp sounds horrible.I know it's not the
stereo I have hooked up to it since it's a
very high quality setup. What's a good sound
card, and how much will it damage my wallet?

Go to the Control Panel and open the Multimedia Panel. There [i]might[/b] be a quality level for the sound, set it to CD quality. Also make sure that the preferred device is selected.
