I don't really care for cats. They stink. I also don't care that some of my neighbors seem to think it is ok to let their cats roam my area. I find poor little dead birds in my yard. The cats have no tags (the hillbillies across the street--that explains it) And the cats incite my otherwise well mannered Golden Retriever, Parker. Sometimes I think he lives for the chance to finally catch and mull one.
Anyway, so I contact the local animal control. They tell me that I can "check out" a cat trap. They will bring it by the house, I sign for it, and call them for pick up when I catch one. Cool. I do this. Bagged two. The guy from animal control tells me that it cost the owner $45. to get the cat out of hock -if it has it's tags and everything is in order. Otherwise, the claimant must pay all kinds of fees totaling $100. In addition, in the event that one of the unresposible owners appears while he taking the feloniuos feline into custody, he gives them a $50, ticket "and" still takes the cat!!!
Well, today I found another poor little furry dead bird in my yard. I'm gonna have to deploy the cat trap once again. Little tuna and a couple hours, I'll have one. However, I will give the cat owner a chance. I know what cats come from what houses. When I nabb one, I'm gonna give the respective owner a chance to buy it back from me for a nominal fee of $20. Their option is that I call animal control and they can deal with them.
Remember, I am using a trap checked out to me by animal control. This is all humane. I don't hurt or abuse the cats. I merely seek to profit from my aggrivation.
I'll probably get shot.
