View Full Version : Congress's approval rating falls to 9%.
KruSader 07-21-2008, 09:10 PM Congress's approval rating falls to 9%.
The Democrats have been in control of congress for about 1.5 years and since then, gas prices have nearly doubled.
And 48% of the sheeple think that the Republicans are still in control of congress.
God help us!
"Poor People have been voting for Democrats for the last 50 years... and they're still poor." - Charles Barkley

"If the elections for U.S. Congress were being held TODAY, would you vote for the Republican Party's candidate or the Democratic Party's candidate for Congress in your district?" If "other" or "unsure": "As of TODAY, do you LEAN more to the Republican or the Democrat?"
Dems are preferred by 52%
Repubs by 37%
Other/unsure= 11%

Your claim lacked any break-out numbers; What was the Dem portion, the Repub portion and so forth.

by haters, you mean people looking for a link to prove your claim :)
i just think it's a very small sample, 1,000 people out of 300 million people in the US.
plus with 3% margin of error means that likely it could be 12% approve of the congresses work while in the 2008 approval poll of 15% if we less the 3% margin of error, another 12% approve so noi change in the year possibly :D
i'd love to hear a pollster say well we conducted a new poll but the change in the poll from our prevuious poll is irrelevant as the decrease in support was 3% which is the margin of error so no change happened

52% vs 37% hmm
If one uses hadit-math .. that means the democrats are favored 4:1 :nice:
Snouter 07-22-2008, 04:56 PM The DemoRats are not doing their job. They did not reverse the RepubliRat year 2000 ENRON LOOPHOLE which provides a way for oil futures terrorists like folks who are guests on CNBC more protection and profit. Congress also did not reverse the SEC's change of the UPTICK RULE, and they tolerate corruption at all levels on Wall Street, so stock terrorists like hedge funds can drive a stock down with ease and without worry of prosecution.

Fuzzy math meets chaos theory, with a bit of *wishful thinking (*Read: delusional thinking), thrown in for good measure.
No matter, debunking this stuff is simple, getting them to "try another tack" in their quest for a bit of daylight in an otherwise gloomy forecast for the next election cycle is a bit more of a challenge.
However, I do what I can. <wicked grin>

Not trying to prove anything...this is a forum correct? Just making an observation :D

As usual, you miss the point completely. The poll was about the democrat led CONGRESS' approval rating. You're comparing apples to oranges and coming up with pears.

It seems like you're somehow trying to tie the Democratic Party to the ratings of Congress.
Java_man 07-22-2008, 11:47 PM Some ppl seem to think that all the repubs in the "democratic controlled" congress are helplessly suspended in some sort of cryrogenic deep freeze ..
last time I checked the senate is split 50:50 and the house 54:46 (%) with the repubs still doing what they normally do .. taking bribes and playing footsie with restroom users and teenaged boys

Now THERE's an idea I can fully endorse.

Harry Reid (D) is the Senate Majority Leader. It's not split 50:50, since Lieberman still caucuses with the democrats, and it is a democrat Senate. If it really was 50:50, the Republicans would have the advantage, because Cheney would be casting tiebreaker votes (that would be cool. Cheney with real power). They've accomplished exactly what I predicted they would after the 06 elections, absolutely nothing. They didn't even try.

Actually, it is YOU who is missing the point ( typical ), but my position is supported by all those who are leaving the republican party, as well as by GOP central giving their drones in Congress permission to abandon the party line in order to ( ha ha ha ) SAVE THEMSELVES.
Perhaps it's because the "true believers" are trying to hide behind the Dems who are slated to CLEAN THEIR CLOCKS for them soon?
That seems FAR more likely.
