At least, as of this writing, they are...:hmm:

Or....they have....(hopefully).......dispensed with it as they cliam they shall (Only the Houston, TX area outlets are - apparently - the only ones involved in this controversy):

Promises, promises....all the time, promises...

Wal Mart told 11 News Wednesday that they plan to take the comic book off their shelves immediately.

Excuses, excues...all the time, excuses......

...we (Wal Mart) understand that Memin (Pinguin) is a popular figure in Mexico.

Oh, as if Mexicans can't be racist bigots, too?!???:poop:

The serial was originally published in the 1960's, but was recently reissued and stocked at the retail chain.

Regretful display of showing society has a *long* way to go...as far as certain 'sociopolitical mores and attitudes' are concerned....

Of course, this *shouldn't* be *much* of a 'surprise' that this is taking place in......Texas.....

After all....a certain town named Jasper is in the *same state*....

And we *all* know what happened there (Circa 1998).....:hmm:

The politically correct pussies in the USA have forced this very funny, very good-natured Mexican mouse character to no longer be active. The Mexicans should be inspired by Speedy!

Yeah...despite 99 44/100% of U.S. Latino Americans protesting his removaol from Cartoon Network USA...rightly proclaiming Sppedy Gonzales a positive and heroic character.....

*One* of the myriad reasons why I have no love in my heart for that place of my then-employment.....:not:

Makes ya just *wonder* about humanity and this *allegedly* sociopolitically enlightened & sophisticated modern society sometimes.....................:hmm:

Good to see Wal Mart being so sensative to the cultural needs of Mexicans.

The "Frito Bandito" (Born & Died in the 1970's, and voiced by The Erstwhile MEL BLANC) was another controversial ethnic figure that was soon derided out of existence.....after many Latino Americans took umbrage at this 'politically incorrect' caricature.....
