WASHINGTON -- Bowing to President Bush's demands, the Senate sent the White House a bill Wednesday overhauling bitterly disputed rules on secret government eavesdropping and shielding telecommunications companies from lawsuits complaining they helped the U.S. spy on Americans.

Sen. Obama disgracefully voted for the bill. I don't know how Sen. McCain voted as the article didn't make his vote clear to me.

Sonsabitches. What happened to that "We're a nation of laws" bullshit?

The rationale for this is, "Yeah, they broke the law, but if they're punished, they might not do it again." No bullshit, that's actually what the GOP has been pushing.

As usual Congress pass laws to oppress the taxpaying, law-abiding American citizen claiming that they are 'protecting' America, as idiotic foreign policy, futures speculators and various lobbyists are actually destroying the economy.
