Tony Snow, the former White House press secretary and conservative pundit who bedeviled the press corps and charmed millions as a FOX News television and radio host, died Saturday after a long bout with cancer. He was 53.

A syndicated columnist, editor, TV anchor, radio show host and musician, Snow worked in nearly every medium in a career that spanned more than 30 years.

"Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of our dear friend Tony Snow," President Bush said in a written statement. "The Snow family has lost a beloved husband and father. And America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character."

Snow died at 2 a.m. Saturday at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.link (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,381250,00.html)

I'm pretty far left of cetner and I mourn this news,I didn't agree with him but he was a human being.

Plus,he was a conservative in the old fashioned sense of the word ,he wasn't an extremist by any means.

Plus ,he came from my neck of the woods and he was my age ,so while I didn't agree with his politics,I could relate to him as a human being and he was way too young to die.:(

He was nowhere near as smarmy as Scott McClellan, and actually seemed to have some dignity and a pretty decent sense of humor about him as well. He was too young to go that soon. RIP.

Is Fox news the only source that reported this?

Cancer is a horrible thing, but I won't shed a tear for someone who was a propagandist for war criminals right down to the end.

Celebrating is reserved for when the war criminals croak..

Yet another death of a person with White House connections.

Who murdered Tony Snow, and why?

Is the NEO-ZIOCON media gonna have extensive memorials like the did with the late Tim Russert? Let's hope Tony was not a Springsteen fan so we are not subject to another crappy song by Bruce.

Snow's death is sad but no moreso than the thousands of other Americans' deaths from cancer that day: Cancer kills nearly 1,500 Americans a day (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16668688/). I feel bad for the guy but I don't know that he deserves any special recognition just because he was a Fox news conservative drafted by the BA to defend their war, certainly no more so than any of the other nameless, faceless people that are part of that daily statistic. Indeed, the administration he eagerly defended publicly was at the helm of an unneeded war that saw more than 4000 US servicemen and women -- brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters -- killed in often horrifying ways, not to mention the tens of thousands of Iraqis killed by US forces as well as the by the scourge of terror unleashed in the war's aftermath. When the public and media "mourn" this guy, they should also be thinking of the other tens of thousands of dead men, women and children as they gush praise on him.

I do feel for his family. In spite of his being a talking head for a douchebag administration, he was also a husband and father. I'm sure his kids and wife miss him dearly.

Well, I suppose that is one way to ensure he doesn't write a book.
