I made pancakes yesterday and they didn't come out too good. I added strawberries to the batter. They were frozen strawberries which I thawed in the microwave just long enough to allow me to cut them. Frozen strawberries end up too mushy in the pancakes. Plus I was all out of maple syrup so I had to use some raspberry syrup shit that I had in the cabinet. It was a new bottle I had gotten as part of a Christmas gift. After yesterday's breakfast, I threw the bottle out. New rule: If it's not 100% pure Vermont maple syrup, I'm not interested. I think there is a picture of me making pancakes on DA somewhere. I like pancakes. My pancakes experience yesterday sucked.

Poor Baboon; no one should have sub-par pancakes.

Personally, I like them with an egg, over easy, in between two cakes. Yes, I know that there's something really wrong with me.

I eat my pancakes with sliced banana cooked into the cakes, peanut butter on top (crunchy is best but creamy will do) and our own homemade VT syrup :nice:

I truly love pancakes but often don't order them when I go out to breakfast because most places don't have real syrup and in my opinion it's just not worth it if that's the case. Sometimes when the place does have real syrup I'll get them and ask for a side of peanut butter to be brought out and they look at me like I'm really weird :rolleyes:

I hear ya on the syrup. I actually go out and pay the premium for real maple syrup. that little bottle in the pic cost my like $9.

Yeah it's really expensive! Luckily My dad still has his sugaring business up and running (when we sold the farm he kept the land with all the sugarwoods and the sugar house) so I get as much free syrup as I want! I always choose the medium amber though and usually all you can get in the grocery store is the light fancy grade. The darker syrup has a stronger fuller flavor though. If you ever get the chance to choose buy the darker stuff to try it out!

I makes pancakes with banana as well but I mash the banana into the mix.
Lately, im in too much of a rush to make pancakes. I prefer waffles now.

Also, sometimes on an off day my pancakes just dont come out right and then I get mad when they are like soft in the middle or just taste too ordinary.

I like pancakes in general though with maple syrup and butter.

Totally hate the butter syrup.
