View Full Version : Best Cookies? Manu 05-16-2008, 12:15 AM Who has the best cookies? share it! Red 05-16-2008, 12:23 AM Chips Ahoy Chewy... it's like ****ing crack. :( Bear Stories 05-16-2008, 07:53 AM Packaged cookies are of the devil. Except oreos. Tally 05-16-2008, 09:40 AM Yeah I don't like any packaged cookies. They have that "packaged flavor" and they're never adequately soft and chewy. I like my cookies half baked. Bear Stories 05-16-2008, 09:44 AM Me too! A great trick is to make up a sheet of cookies and then pop them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Then bake. You get the nice crispy outside and soft and gooey in the middle. Yumm-mee! Tally 05-16-2008, 01:28 PM great idea! It took me years but I finally found the recipe for cooking the utmost perfect chocolate chip cookies that don't flatten out too much, stay big and chewy and delicious! I'll give you a hint....the secret ingredient is vanilla pudding mix! EMTrue 05-19-2008, 05:36 AM Homemade- white chocolate chip with dried blueberries and cranberries...we call 'em Red, White & Blue's. colonel 05-19-2008, 11:09 AM My favorite cookie is called an ANZAC. They were invented to send to Aussie soldiers overseas and consist of rolled oats, raisins, golden syrup and coconut (Rayne probably has a real recipe). When they come out of the oven they're chewey and then they harden into a toffee consistency. In fact they're so crunchy they can cut the inside of your mouth but I still love 'em. Don't get me into the whole pain & pleasure thing or we'll be discussing cookies in TEF and that would just be confusing. Tally 05-19-2008, 11:18 AM This is sort of off topic because it's about a "bar" more than a "cookie" but Colonel's post got me thinking about it again, something I'm always wondering. What are those chewy bars that seem to have a standard chocolate chip cookie dough bottom and then they have a chewy caramel layer and a toasted coconut layer on top, sometimes I see them with nuts (but prefer them without), not sure if there are other things in there too....anyone know what I'm talking about and what they're called? Baboon 05-19-2008, 11:45 AM My favorite cookies are the classic home made peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies. The only packaged cookies I eat are the Girl Scout thin mints. Packaged cookies just don't come anywhere near the quality of homemade ones. Saison 05-19-2008, 12:05 PM I used to have a big problem with Double Stuff Oreos. Those cookies make me quite happy. Adi 05-19-2008, 12:32 PM Yeah I don't like any packaged cookies. They have that "packaged flavor" and they're never adequately soft and chewy. I like my cookies half baked. I agree but Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip cookies>than any packaged cookies on the market. Manu 05-19-2008, 03:11 PM How about we share some recipes :) |
