...what's for lunch?

Today I got the salad bar with a side of chicken tenders. It's not the healthiest choice, but I've got spin class later so I think it will even out. What are you having?

The usual. Two sandwiches. Peanut butter and strawberry jelly and peanut butter and honey. Both on pepperidge farm oatmeal bread. Yum yum!

Last night I went to the grocery store and bought yellow, orange, and red peppers, portabello mushrooms, and zucchini. Tonight I'm gonna slice and marinate some london broil and boneless chicken breasts, in hoisan sauce and asian barbecue sauce respectively. I ordered a new portable gas grill from Amazon, and it should be arriving soon. I'm gonna need to test it out, so tomorrow night I'm makin' shishkabob! I'm trying to decide if it's worth another trip to the store to get some shrimp. Probably is...

Im jealous of all the great sounding lunches.
I have pathetic lunches from places near school or on the campus which I wont even bother to post about.

Most times I only have snacks and drinks for lunch as I fear the cooked food from the places near work. Im also tired of KFC and another fried fast food place nearby.

Most times I eat no lunch and skip to dinner.

Is Mesa one of those areas in AZ that is like hardcore filled to the brim with illegal Mexicans?

I used to live right outside of East L.A. and man, they might have been breaking the law by being here, but those illegal aliens made some good food.

all of arizona is like that. but as far as mesa goes, the phoenix valley is a big place. you have your good neighborhoods and your pis poor neighboorhoods. I live in a good one. all of my neighbors spend most of the year on vacation and have an average of 5 vehicles not counting vehicles belonging to their kids. the only time we see mexicans is when I need the palm tree in my yard trimmed or the two 80ft tall trees in my front yard need some maintenance. but yeah, there is a burrito place on every corner here and the food is often pretty good. some are downright amazing. there are two really really awesome places near my house.

When you say "places," are you referring to like, actual brick and mortar establishments which are listed in the phonebook? Or do you mean like those ghetto ass, filthy, run down taco carts where no one speaks a word of English?

Because the latter is seriously where all the good food is, in my experience. :D

Today's lunch consisted of cheese-less pizza with green peppers and eggplant. Not bad.

Amen. God, I could never be a vegan.

Well, I'm planning to buy a block of soy cheese at Whole Foods later today, now that I feel the need to justify my purchasing a non-stick pizza pan. Though now I'll also have to buy a cheese grater. :(

although I do like tofu in some things, soy cheese just sounds horrible.

Yeah, a lot of soy products are somewhere between bad and terrible tasting, in my opinion. With that said, I'm willing to try almost anything once! :nice:

I've had the soy cheese (nephew with a dairy allergy) and it seems to melt like cheese but has zero flavor.

For me today lunch is meatballs in vodka sauce with PROVOLONE melted all over!

I don't think I had a lunch today, unless you count a lot of potato chips and soda as lunch. :(

Today's lunch was homemade pizza, round two: now with vegan mozzarella!

This soy cheese is not bad at all, though a little too creamy for my tastes. I am in the habit of drowning my pizza in Tobasco sauce however, which takes away some of the creamy flavor, so overall it's quite good. :nice:

I'm eating Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch. I haven't had ice cream in months.

I am now thinking of buying that coconut ice cream I mentioned yesterday. :( Though I probably shouldn't...

This ice cream is delicious. :|

Chocolate peanut butter cup flavor. It was $4.99 for a tiny little container, no less.

Today I had black beans, sweet corn, and pea pods. Seasoned with a light barbecue sauce and vegan margarine, respectively. :nice:
