Snouter 04-30-2008, 04:35 PM Congrats on the gig. What's yer set list? Don't bite your strings in front of Dave.
GanjaFreebird 04-30-2008, 05:16 PM Congrats on the gig.
Thanks:).
What's yer set list?
45 mintues of mostly orignal songs, but maybe a cover or two, probably "Whole Lotta Shakin'" (with me playing the piano), and a slow Blues.
Don't bite your strings in front of Dave.
Why not? Jimi's playing with teeth obviously didn't cause Dave to lose any respect for him, did it?:p
Truth Teller 04-30-2008, 05:50 PM Congrats.:nice:
Farnsworth,Luther P. 04-30-2008, 09:13 PM Traffic was one of the greats. Congratulations. I don't follow music all that much to know who was in what band and whatever, but if he's still doing the same style of stuff, I'll check out his CD's. I'm allergic to California, though, so I'll wait until you make it to Texas sometime.

My take on this was that Snouter thought that out of either excitement or nervousness you'd bite clear through 'em.
Breaking a string onstage with your teeth isn't very entertaining, I dare say. ;)
GanjaFreebird 05-01-2008, 03:40 AM Congrats.

Thank you, and yes, when it comes to live performances, he still is doing the same style, basically a mix of Traffic songs, his solo stuff and covers like "All Along The Watchtower" (he played acoustic guitar on Jimi's version, originally). I'm not very familiar with his new albums though.
I've never been to Texas before, but maybe I can take the band there sometimes.
You play guitar with your teeth???
Let's just say, occasionally...http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=9669612

Naw, there's nothing to worry about, I've been doing this long enough to know better:).
However, I will admit that I do have a problem whent it comes to breaking strings, but that's mostly because my style of playing generally involves being very "heavy" on the strings with the right hand and doing a lot of bends with the left hand. That's why I always have at least one or two extra guitars standing, in case I break a string:).
