" I forestall the launch of a national campaign and frankly I'd be makign it easier for Senator Clinton or Obama to win. Frankly, in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror."

I think it is code for: "My damn magic underwear is too itchy to wear while campaigning"

He's been indicated as a candidate that if made into the nominee would be easier than McCain for the democrats to beat. Thus, by leaving it to McCain, it's more challenging for the dems to win, who he is labeling as "surrenderists" in the war on terror.

Why do these worthless empty shell politicians need to say "frankly" and "quite frankly" all the time? Only *******s talk like that in real life.

I was being a tad sarcastic. ;)

I disagree with his notion of "surrender".

Nice. I think it may be an attempt to convince us that they're being honest and sincere. Can there possibly still be Americans out there that think that's even an option in a politician?

When a politico says "frankly" or "honestly" , what follows is the opposite of 'Frank' or 'Honest'

I'm kind of enjoying watching the Ann Coulters and the Rush Limbaughs strangle on their own vomit over this election cycle. It gives me a peace that passes all understanding.

That's easily the best part of all of this. The whining, screaming, and contortions of these people as they're forced to choose between sitting out, supporting a Democrat, or sucking it up and getting behind a man who they all know despises them.

Good riddance, Romney!!!
So typical of politicians. I bet he'll be back in 4 yrs. along with a different Bush.
Just a guess. Who knows what will happen in the meantime.

It means he couldn't buy the election, couldn't even beat Huckabee, even though he had more money than both of his rivals put together.

Which brings up the question of what St. Ron of Paul is going to do with the money he raised; he hasn't said yet that I know of. Maybe use it to run a Perot type spoiler campaign as an indie, maybe?

I copied and pasted the snip from the MSNBC article. I would guess that they edited it between our readings. I read it very soon after it had been posted on their site, and I'd guess they'd put it up very hastily, as it was full of errors.

This may be the single stupidest bit of drivel I've ever heard erupt from the mealy mouth of a worthless politician, and I've heard a lot of stupid drivel.

I wonder if, when his advisors proposed that he announce that his decision to quit (solely because he couldn't win) was based entirely on self-sacrifice for the purpose of defeating terrorists, he looked at them and asked, "Are you f*ckin nuts? Even I won't say something that f*ckin stupid!", before deciding to say it anyway?

I heard him say exactly what Pints quoted, and he definitely punctuated his idiotic, sanctimonious, nonsensical outburst with the word "frankly."

Romney does tend to overuse words like "frankly" and "honestly", it seems to me.

All politics aside, apart from Clinton, Romney impressed me as the least genuine candidate of this cycle. Everytime I'd see him, I half-expected that his battery would die and his handlers would wheel him off stage with a hand truck and plug him in for a charge.

I'm not pickin' up everything Obama's puttin' down, but he at least strikes me as sincere.

I saw him as your basic political hack, a rich guy who for obscure reasons decided he should be president, perhaps out of boredom. I don't think he's nearly as horrible as pathological narcissists like McCain or Hillary Clinton.

It is pretty amusing to see the right-wing blowhard squad getting whipped up into a neofascist lather because the republican VOTERS , though the DEMOCRATIC process , have NOT chosen the ultrarightwing theocratic jingoists that the blowhards wanted

We are witnessing the AM neoblowhards dry up and shrivel away into political irrelevance :nice:
