Im so shocked :( Hes a Perth boy. I hate that they are already speculating about what killed him, I wish they would wait.
ThePrankMonkey 01-22-2008, 05:22 PM looks like they'll be finding a new joker.
optimus 01-22-2008, 05:29 PM Wow.
Shandril105 01-22-2008, 05:51 PM Apparant overdose. Not sure if it was suicide or not. Really sad. :(
i bet it was food poisoning, bad meat in the can.
Que sera, sera 01-22-2008, 06:19 PM looks like they'll be finding a new joker.
Wow! I'm honestly shocked. He looked like he was going to be a really good Joker, too.
grimrebuke 01-22-2008, 06:22 PM looks like they'll be finding a new joker.
I thought they were done shooting and were doing post-production...
This sucks, my condolences to his family and friends and fans...
optimus 01-22-2008, 06:48 PM i bet it was food poisoning, bad meat in the can.
Bad Red.

Hey, the point is he wasn't in the Dead Pool, either.

Yes. Do you?
IdlewildSouth 01-22-2008, 07:33 PM Yeah, Black Knight was already in the can. He was filming another movie, I forget the name and don't care to look it up.
colonel 01-22-2008, 07:58 PM Sad really.

No, they're not as hot as Heath.
optimus 01-22-2008, 08:26 PM He was great in "A Knights Tale."
Nor'Easter 01-22-2008, 08:31 PM If that joker he created ends up being as kick-ass as it seems like it will be in that Batman movie, this guy is going to become legendary in the same way that Brandon Lee did after The Crow. I'm really hoping that the movie ends up being as good as I think it will be. Believe me, if it is, and that joker is as killer as it seems like it will be, this guy is going to be considered a modern day James Dean. Between the Brokeback Mountain role and that joker role, the range is enormous. That's going to play well if the joker role is really good.
He'll still be dead, though.

I'm guessing his family cares... just as the families of the 1000's who die every day, too.
jwreck 01-22-2008, 09:20 PM you know, yesterday a friend of mine became permanently disfigured in the service of the citizens of the city of Houston. He was a 30 second blip on the local news. Some jackass who plays make believe for a living od's himself and its international news. What does that say about how ****ed up our world is?

Take a very good look at Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson.... now, do you really want to be on TV news for more than 30 seconds? Would you really wish that on a friend?
Monster 01-23-2008, 05:07 AM I heard about this today, and went online to confirm it.
The headlines read as follows:
Heath Ledger found dead at 28.
Directly underneath this headline was another one:
Paris Hilton: 'Britney's a great mom!'
There's no justice in this world. :(
Rayney 01-23-2008, 07:01 AM Some of you people are disgusting. Try and take your heads out of your arses and attempt some god damn compassion for your fellow man.

Well, let's see...most everybody here knew who Ledger was, your friend for all his service to people is known only to friends and family.
Ledger was a serious actor (see Monster's Ball and Brokeback Mountain) with a potential long starring career and was only 28, someone mentioned James Dean, he actually died before ANY of his films were released.
Law enforcment and Fire Service personnel risk, and sometimes lose their lives to protect us, the public. The fact they only rate a 30 second mention on local news doesn't diminish the sacrifice they made and most thinking people realise that.

Not to mention all our soldiers who are dying every day who hardly get a mention on the news. :(

PlatyGuy 01-23-2008, 02:36 PM Disproportionate concern about celebrities' lives is bad. Concern limited only to those you personally know is worse. The true mark of compassion is caring for someone you don't know, who's not like you, and who's not rich or famous.
Monster 01-23-2008, 02:37 PM I really hope that the head of the WBC is found in bed with a 10-year-old Thai boy.
I mean, it'd suck for the Thai boy, but it'd be funny as hell for the rest of us.
Dreamintree01 01-23-2008, 04:58 PM http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/2894/heathrj9.jpg
Awww. That is so sweet. We've learned to be such compassionate people b/c of organized religion.
Anywho, I really liked that Heath Ledger fellow. His acting really kept getting better, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new Batman, if it ever comes out. Sad day losing him :hmm:

Ummm, did this room-temperature-IQ group comprehend that he was only playing a part? But wait...I guess it's perfectly okay to "hate" him because he was a "swish"-enabler!?! I'd also say that it's kinda not up to them whether Keith Ledger is in Hell or not? Either that, or how wonderful that these people have "God's" direct cellphone number.
:jes: ???
zipper99 01-23-2008, 11:16 PM Hmmmm.if they have the usual Hollywood style security at the funeral these wacko Fundies are likely to get some lumps for their troubles. Hopefully the police will suffer temporary blindness and not see a thing.
Mister E. 01-27-2008, 12:22 PM I notice that a lot of the callous comments regarding Heath Legder's death have come from the conservative/ring-wing camp. Is it because he played a gay cowboy? I saw more compassion when Jerry Falwell died.
Farnsworth,Luther P. 01-27-2008, 12:51 PM FYI, 'Westboro Baptist Church' is a satire site, like the Onion only satirizing, well, certain Baptists, and a pretty good one ...
Never heard of 'Heath Ledger' until this thread, never saw the homo cowboy movie, and somehow after reading this thread, I still don't care who he was, or how he died. Actors killing themselves with bad dope is nothing of any consequence or newsworthy. Did he even do anything like rescue a small kitten from a tree or something? Anything? Anything at all, other than playing a fruit cowboy in a pointless movie ??? ....
I do, however, wish jwreck's friend all the best, and tell him 'Thanks!' for risking his health and life in service to his community, and I hope he recovers from his/her/it/mutant's wounds.

Unfortunately in today's world .. fame seems to trump every other quality or action .. even the most worthy ones like heroism and public service

Thanks guys. He's still in ICU. I'll keep ya posted.
