Just took the engine apart. One of the screws from the carb base plate vibrated out and fell into the no. 2 cylinder. The piston smashed the screw against the head. The piston and piston skirt shattered in to about fifteen peices. The connecting rod is in one piece, but, is twisted and discolored. The block has a 1" x 1" hole in the no. 2 cylinder wall...

This FU@&ing sucks...

Yeah, I've got a 302. Figured I'd do a cam upgrade, go to modified 289 heads (1.84/1.60 valves & screw-in studs) and do the disk brake conversion. This was supposed to the winter I did the body and paint. Oh freaking well...

Picked up an '88 GT 5.0 roller motor w/E7TE heads this wk...

<80,000 miles, can still see the original cross hatch marks on the cylinder walls....

Gonna get a Z303 cam, do a lower end rebuild, go thru the heads etc... (cylinders still hold > 150 psi so doubt I'll re-ring....)

How much was it? What intake?

$450....

Left the FI stuff, no computer or wiring harness, so, no need for that stuff.

Would have went FI if the electronics were there. Coulda been lots of fun... :D

Awww, cheap shot, Fordman. But, as most of you know I am, even being a Honda Head myself, that was pretty funny. And hell, every true racer I know has blown a motor at one point, whether it be my boy with a Z28 who had so much debris in his oil pan that his engine went hairwire or my friend with a Supra Turbo. Hehe, that one's pretty funny, he juiced his twin turbos up to 26psi and threw a rod. 26psi!! Moron was running stock internals. Don't ask. Like I said, I won't deny that some import-drivers are idiots. Including my friend. *shakes head* Stock internals.

Then again, how many high performance (or any other) 74 hondas do you see on the road. :p

I had the EXACT same thing happen, but with a BBK TB. Locked the motor hard.

Ahh, Ian... No need to. Considering the MAV had DESTROYED SEVERAL SN95's, including a few Cobra's. Not to mention the guys in the Z28SS's that were unfortunate enough to line up.

Hot chicks were not an issue. Funny thing 'bout a 74 Maverick in grey and red primer blowing the doors off a new Mustang or Camaro. That has TONS of embarassment behind it.

Fun fact about this is, the next one will be even BADDER!!! Ya want to find out, I'm not hard to find. :D:D:D:D
