View Full Version : Obama and Huckabee win in Iowa TheLateGreat 01-03-2008, 11:24 PM Obama's speech = perfection. Gives me goosebumps. I'm ogasming now, y'all! orangikan 01-03-2008, 11:27 PM Hopefully we can put this little State behind us and get on to those that are bigger, and find out - hopefully by Feb 5 who the real front runners are. Then I can turn off all Poli BS until the election. Q: How come the writers for these Pols aren't striking? PULEEZ! Que sera, sera 01-03-2008, 11:33 PM Obama's speech = perfection. Gives me goosebumps. I'm ogasming now, y'all! Open the floodgates... Stone 01-03-2008, 11:33 PM Thank god - both Obama and Huckabee are well qualified and well deserving. This saves my otherwise shitty day... Shadoglare 01-03-2008, 11:51 PM Of course, what Iowa thinks has no bearing on what the rest of the country thinks... Nor'Easter 01-04-2008, 12:39 AM Obama's speech = perfection. Gives me goosebumps. I'm ogasming now, y'all! It was a beautiful speech. I wish I trusted the people who own us to allow us to decide who we really want to lead us, and to actually let go of the power. I just don't believe that they will. If Obama is their guy, then he's tainted already. If he's not their guy, then he'll either lose the nomination or he'll lose the general election. Either way, the corporate power guys will still own us and nothing will change. The bastards won't let their hold on power go unless it's ripped from their grip. Speeches and elections won't do it. I like the ending of "Fight Club". That's how you shut those bastards down. I'd chain the scum to their desks though. That'd be my only adjustment to it all. This election is my last hope for this system of government. It's sad to see you giving up before the final word. Saison 01-04-2008, 09:23 AM This election is my last hope for this system of government. I say this every four years, and I am always disappointed. :hmm: lamja00 01-04-2008, 11:18 AM Obama's speech = perfection. Gives me goosebumps. I'm ogasming now, y'all! I heard snippets of it and the audience seemed to be really enjoying it, as they were cheering loudly. (Plus, Obama's got that call and response thing going on). When I heard that Huckabee won, well I'm speechless. soylentgreen 01-04-2008, 01:06 PM This election is my last hope for this system of government. So what system will you be promoting next year? Snouter 01-04-2008, 01:08 PM Is everyone referring to the acceptance speech? If so, it was say to saturated with "history making" and "proving the critics wrong" and other irrelevant bullshit that implied the non-existent racism against was actually real. Also, the slogan of "change" was already beaten to death by Slick Willie. It is great that despite his racist affiliations Obama did beat that ridiculous, hideous megalomaniac, Hillary. If Huckabee and Obama were to go on and win their respective nominations and there was no freedom-loving, Yahweh-hating third party, it would be a tough choice. They are both that bad. soylentgreen 01-04-2008, 01:12 PM I think the chances of Obama suffering an untimely accident just doubled. Gibson 01-04-2008, 01:18 PM We srsly don't need a muslim prez... Nor'Easter 01-04-2008, 01:57 PM I was referring to the fact that people who cross the Clintons don't usually live too long... hmmmm I didn't get this take from that post. That said, I'm sure there's a few god fearing, right thinking, American partiots considering amongst themselves how best to step in and save the nation from making the mistake of electing a negro as president. Then, there are the ones getting their own weaponry together to start killing off the God,Guns 'n Gays crowd if anything like that happens. This should be an interesting 11 months. soylentgreen 01-04-2008, 02:00 PM The Secret Service is going to protect him. When? He doesn't have SS protection now. Nor do I think the SS has the ability to stop a plane from crashing. I'm sure if Hillary has Obama killed she'll try to turn the "tragedy" into some kind of campaign slogan for herself. soylentgreen 01-04-2008, 02:01 PM That said, I'm sure there's a few god fearing, right thinking, American partiots considering amongst themselves how best to step in and save the nation from making the mistake of electing a negro as president. Did he get rid of it? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18474444/ Plane crash. Not funny. Hopefully, the ghost of Ron Brown will speak to Obama and tell him to avoid planes. LoL I'm sure if Hillary has Obama killed she'll try to turn the "tragedy" into some kind of campaign slogan for herself. Me too. grimrebuke 01-04-2008, 02:18 PM The Obama thing was good to see. I hope he gets momentum from this. But that's not the interesting story. The Dems are a three-person race that will boil down to two after super Tuesday. The interesting story is Huckabee and McCain. McCain is poised to take New Hampshire. I believe the number to watch is 1191. Huckabee is not going to be the GOP candidate, he's really only got two or three states he can win and he's about to get the hard questions he has been allowed to ignore thrown at him now that he has won something. But he has siphoned off 40 delegates from the pool. 5 states have lost half of their delegates. One of those is Wyoming, who goes to the polls tomorrow and where Ron Paul and Mitt Romney both look strong. If Romney doesn't pick up those 14 delegates and McCain takes away the 24 in New Hampshire, as he's poised to do, the two-man race of Romney and Giuliani could result in no winner if it is very close or if more spoiler votes come to pass in the primary cycle. Also, Huckabee has a chance of taking Michigan's 60. The question is: how long will this widely diverse field of candidates hang in there? Giuliani has set himself to run in some less contested later states, while Thompson is doing the same thing. Meanwhile McCain and Huckabee are trying to poke holes in Romney's campaign. If this goes on past super-Tuesday, we literally could go into the convention without a Presidential candidate from the GOP decided. Now, that would be good television. Any candidate can afford to lose only 1189 delegate votes. So the table below could be fun to follow... Delegate Losses (Jan 4): McCain - 40 Huckabee - 0 Rudy - 40 Duncan Hunter - 40 Romney - 40 Paul - 40 Thompson - 40 grimrebuke 01-04-2008, 02:20 PM Also, note that Ron Paul pulled down 10%, just behind McCain and ahead of Rudy and Hunter combined. lamja00 01-04-2008, 02:48 PM Also, note that Ron Paul pulled down 10%, just behind McCain and ahead of Rudy and Hunter combined. I noticed!!!!!!!!!!!! Rudy will probably get double the amount of TV coverage anyway. I just put together a spreadsheet and, using only strong polling data (leading by substantially more than the margin of error from reputable and recent polling) Rudy is the only guy that can afford to drop half of the votes he doesn't already appear to have in the bag. And no one is out of it, yet. Soooo...I guess your computer doesn't have access to porn for some reason..?? grimrebuke 01-06-2008, 01:26 PM Soooo...I guess your computer doesn't have access to porn for some reason..?? It was a wargamming exercise at work. We do that now and then to shake things up and keep the mind sharp. I try not to watch too much porn there. On a side note, Romney picked up 12 in Wyoming. If current polls stood through Feb 5, Giulliani is the only candidate after Feb 5 who could afford to lose 50% of the remaining delegates (including PR, which Paul would be well-advised to advertise in telling them he doesn't believe in colonies and would consider just making them a state). Huckabee could afford to lose 37% and Romney just under 10%. Because so much of the bible belt goes before Feb 5 (which explains a LOT) it will look like a 2-way race between Rudy and Huckleberry until after super-Tuesday unless Romney gets a lot of the too close to call states.
